No hero vs. villain pairings for Dissidia Duodecim |

If you were waiting for Cid Raines or Barthandelus to match up against Lightning for Dissidia 012[duodecim] Final Fantasy, don't hold your breath. Unlike in the first game, there will be no Chaos vs. Cosmos matchups for the character lineup. Don't worry though, heroes and villains will still be enlisted from various corners of Final Fantasy, just not in pairs this time.
Tetsuya Nomura initially wanted Kain Highwind to be in the first Dissidia. But since Cecil got dibs on the hero slot, the other FFIV addition had to be a villain, which was Golbez. There won't be such a problem in Duodecim. Both Kain and Cecil are in the sequel. According to game director Mitsuno Takahashi, character selection in the first one also proved to be a dilemma. The inability to include other popular characters in the series was a bit of a letdown for fans and developers alike.
Now, each character will have at least three costumes - the standard, a secondary, and a 3P color. Downloadable costumes, like Lightning's Aya costume (yes, they're swapping clothes), will be a fourth.

That was more convoluted and obscure than a KH rant, and its not even an RPG?!

I don't support the addition of Kingdom Hearts in Dissidia, since it IS a Final Fantasy title, but Squall's costume from KH2 would be so badass. His alternate costume in Dissidia was a letdown. lol
