New trailer of Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII hints of NA version?

Ó

We've drooled over the scans, we've been stunned over the trailers, we've fantasized over the merchandise - it's just too bad, though, that everything about Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII for the PlayStation Portable is pretty much in Japanese, without the slightest hint of English in sight (barring the title and character names, of course).

However, all that may have changed with this trailer video update of the game - with the game's credits in the King's own English.

The trailer itself features snippets of the game's cinematics, featuring both new and old characters from the Final Fantasy VII universe. There's a bit of a homage to the beginning of the original game - namely Zack landing upon a train heading into the depths of Midgar, pretty much how Cloud infiltrated a Mako Power Plant along with the rest of AVALANCHE. Totally awesome.

Of course, this could also be just a little teaser of Square Enix's - remember the tech demo they made of Final Fantasy VII running on next-gen graphics? Fingers remain in their crossed positions, however, as it'd also be too cruel for the company responsible for the epic RPG franchise not to grace us with an NA release. That'd just be criminal.

In any case, enjoy the video!

get your facts straight qj, the NA release has been confirmed to be released but WHEN it will be released is the question

by Nic - 2007-08-31 08:19
» fan-made

just looks like a fan made video not an actual trailer

by asd - 2007-08-31 08:27
» it's not fan made

It's the intro before the menu

by Ico - 2007-08-31 08:27
» It's been confirmed

a long time ago before any of the crisis core trailers even made it's way to the net that the game will make it's NA debut... but it will be a long wait.

» itd be nice

if the Main Menu looked like in the end of the video :)

» Ummm

...alot of Japanese games have the credits in English. Final Fantasy X had the people's names in English. You're more likely to see English in a Japanese game than Japanese in an English game... note how in FFVII's Japanese version, signs for "Loveless" were in English... they're more of a bilingual country than America in terms of the two languages, so any conclusion about a North American release are completely unsupported, since this almost always happens.

And I don't know why it would be said to be a teaser for an NA edition anyway, since it was confirmed to be coming to the States to begin with... so cut the article in half and just post the damn video next time instead of making crap up :\

» better not suck like Advent children

Hey I had my hopes up too. Sure it beat Spirits within in terms of action but that's all...

» NA?

What is NA version? What does it means?

by MrHellFire - 2007-08-31 10:44
» Unnecessary

I think it's pretty obvious that it'll hit US shores. A big name franchise like Final Fantasy not getting an American release? Uh...right, that'll happen again, sure it will.

by Fayt - 2007-08-31 10:47
» Meaning

NA Version + North American Version

by enigma - 2007-08-31 11:03
» well if the game.....

has as much promise as it shows, which i believe that Crisis Core is quite possibly the best game I've ever seen, almost on par with FFVII, then I will certainly buy it when it comes out in North America.

One Question though,

seeing as though the game has advent children like cut scenes, will the game be in two UMDs or a double capacity UMD?

by jkoz - 2007-08-31 11:27
» Nope.

Why? It's just a video, like any other. Just because it looks like Advent Children doesn't mean that it requires more space; the real question is how long is the total length of them. They could be AC graphics or crappy anime graphics and still take up the same room since it's all prerendered. If there's two hours of cutscene then yeah, a two-UMD game might happen. But if the AC-style cutscenes we've seen are all that's in there of them, then I doubt it needs two UMD discs. There is no double capacity UMD to my knowledge, and if there was, I don't know if the PSP can read it. Japan already has games that come with two UMDs.

Well this is the official intro

well you can see never seen things

such as Bahamut/Odin/Ifrit summon animations (Odin rocks!) also some intense fight between Sephiroth and Genesis also The end seems very like a game start screen zack with the white/black feathers...

» Another late info

"get your facts straight qj"

Exactly what I wanted to say. Burton has already signed to voice Cloud, just check out IMDB.

» Get your facts straight ttl...

Yeah it's coming to the US... but just because it lists Steve Burton on IMDB... that's a poor judgment of confirming any news. Numerous times IMDB has been wrong on many things for Advent Children, other movies, games, etc... unless the movie is in print, I wouldn't take what IMDB has to say without a grain of salt...

by seargent007 - 2007-08-31 14:44
» exactly

i think its kinda like what EA does with its trailers, it seems like they are posting a "trailer" that is just the opening animation of the game leading to the menu, with the "press start button" option purposely removed.

by hmm - 2007-08-31 16:38
» Man

Wow, cool Intro. Seems like the "Soft" Intro to the game. All you need there is the "Press Start Button" text to appear

wrong

by Sephiroth - 2007-08-31 17:58
» they do this alot

the last thing video wise to be released is the opening video. its like saying its done its here ect..

by .. - 2007-08-31 20:46
» ..

The video does indeed looked like a fan made teaser...

I won't buy this if it is dubbed in English and does not have the option to change to Japanese.

by Meh - 2007-08-31 23:32
» yea

yeah stop being stupid QJ, not only the game is already coming out, thse tech demos that square make have no *****ing connection to anything AT ALL

they did one for N64, they did one for PS2, and they did one for PS3.....what the hell does it has to do with teasing anything?

by rayn - 2007-09-01 04:17
» well considering that...

FFVII is maybe the most successful and popular game of all time of course square-enix is gonna give the americans a taste of zack's prequel to the FFVII PSX.

But for those that can read and speak japanese just get the game imported...and if u cant afford it "there are other ways of getting it"
