New trailer for Final Fantasy Agito XIII reveals more battle gameplay

See I knew this would have surfaced eventually. The new trailer for Final Fantasy Agito XIII is now online. Considering that some people have gotten copies of FF7ACC a day early, I assume this was taken off of the Blu-ray's bonus content (just like the Versus XIII footage from a while ago).

The trailer takes quite a while to pick up. The first half shows a bit of backstory on how the military is sweeping over the land. Talk about having dispatch an entire empire's army with just a rag-tag team of specialized campus hicks. Epic much? ...or FFVIII much?

It's only later on in the trailer where our main characters show up - plus of course, lots of battle gameplay. Slowly but surely, I'm starting to believe that Agito's inching closer to have a lot of Crisis Core real-time battle vibe to it. Square Enix's Hajime Tabata was right.

I wonder if, in the trailer, the other characters in your party are being controlled via ad-hoc or infrastructure mode...

Looks like it could be an ad hoc co-op crisis core.

The music sounds like the composer for FFXI.

We know it's going to be like Crisis Core, but the gameplay looks slightly better. Looks like you can actually use different weapons(or it's a combination of whip/sword) and attacks seem like they can be chosen in a shorter time.

The time it takes for them to release this outside of Japan. We are all going to get this like a 6 months to a year after it's release in Japan. I really want an RPG for my PSP that's not a PS1 game.

There are different Characters to play as, and they all specialize in different weapons. One uses cards, one uses a whip...etc. But hopefully it's more fast paced and less random then CC...which had lame slot machine crap.

Most likely, those other chars in the battle are controlled via the computer. If people don't remember, let me remind you. Crisis Core had a battle encounter thingy, it wasn't like KH where enemies just show up and you start attacking. With that being said, if there was an ad hoc mode, what would the other chars be doing, before an encounter.

Don't get me wrong, I would love this game to have ad/infras, but at the same time, I'm not expecting it to.

As far as the game goes, it looks good. It'll be a while before it comes to the states, but if I can wait for XIII, then I can wait for this as well.

if i remember correctly, on the trailer for FF13 for ps3, it smoothly transitions into the battle without having encounters. maybe it'll be the same on psp. if so, then ad hoc or infrastructure for that would make sense. if not, well, too bad. guess the psp isn't high-tech enough for it XD. damn ps3, can't play ff13 cause of it, cause i'm most likely never to get one

sorry to burst your bubble, but adhoc and infra have been confirmed for months now. ;-)
