New Nintendo 64 Emulator from Daedalus! |

Ó

Yup, a new build for the much talked about Nintendo 64 emulator has just been released moments ago. StrmnNrmn has released the official Daedalus R5 Emulator with many improvements. Here is the change log from StrmnNrmn himself.
[+] New DynaRec engine, resulting in significant performance improvements
[+] New front end - ability to toggle a couple of options (more to come)
[+] Save game first pass (eeprom4k, eeprom16k and mempak)
[^] Various interpreting engine optimisations
[~] Use .png file format for background images, save ~380KB
[~] Stripped out unnecessary code, save ~250KB
From the looks of it, there seems to be about a 2-3 frames per second of improvement on average. Not to shabby if you ask me. This is yet again a huge movement in the Nintendo 64 emulation scene. Try out your favorite Roms and tell them how they work, if they work and the frames per second. StrmnNrmn once again thinking about his fans has released two different versions of his excellent emulator, and the source if you want to fiddle around with it. Thanks for the brilliant emulator StrmnNrmn.

StrmnNrmn you are an asset to the PSP community.
@86 Google is your friend.

Sure , a nintendo 64 emu is great , but a gba emu would be much more easier to create.

There's no need to add stuff to the code until you get the Roms running faster and more stable.
THEN you can look into stuff like sound and save states.
Just my opinion.
Good work so far though!

Awesome job on the new release, StrmnNrmn. it is amazing that we can do this much with just what you have done so far. I can't imagine how much the overall emu will have improved over the course of the next year, now that the source is in the hands of other brilliant people that can help you. You sir, are a genius, and keep on fightin the good fight for PSP homebrew

1. After selecting ROM enable Dynamic Recompilation in ROM settings. You will get better speed.
2. You will notice there is NO SOUND, at least that was the case with Super Mario World.
3. Yes, it is true the START button does NOT work when playing Super Mario World. Why? I dont know. Probably a slight oversight.
4. When playing a game if you press SELECT it will show you the FPS you are running in the upper left hand corner.
In closing this version is definitly faster than the last. Much props and respect go to the devs of this fine emu and I look forward to the upcoming revisions.
