Myst

Well well, it's been a while since we've last heard of Myst for the PSP. It was previously delayed to allow for more quality control, and now we're looking at a release this month.

Even if you're not familiar with adventures, you should've heard about Myst. It may not look as great today, but when the game was released in 1993 for the Mac and one year later for the PC, it was a groundbreaking experience. Myst eventually became the best selling computer game for a long time, at least until the Sims madness started. In my opinion, the game still holds up well today and we're looking forward to experiencing it again on the go when it's released for the PSP.

Those screenshots look terrible, they look like those very first pre-rendered PC games...

That's because Myst pretty much was THE first pre-rendered PC game.

You're right. It looks pretty horrible. Grainy, low detail renders do not make a Myst Game.

Can't wait for this, I've played all the Myst/Riven series and am a massive fan.

Hope it lives up to my expectations.

this had better not be the original myst, because I've beaten it and I'm afraid all my memory will come back, and I'll know exactly what to do. I really want this to be a new one, or at least an updated longer version or something

It is the original Myst game, and it's no better than the ORIGINAL.

They didn't even use the high-color renders from the Myst Masterpiece Edition. It's the old 256-color renders from the original.

Frankly, I was very disappointed.

Those of you who think it looks good, the smoothness is due to the JPEG compression of the screenshots.

I'd rather play the original on the PC (which I did recently, again), than play it on the PSP.

A Myst 3 or 4 port would be VERY nice indeed, though.

Exile portable? hell yeah!
