Ó

We have new screenshots from Final Fantasy Tactics: The Lion War today. Today's batch has no cutscence screencaps, but there is one of Delita and Ovelia talking at a waterfall. If this blogger remembers correctly, this particular scene is where you get Delita as an ally for one battle. I could be wrong though. This is also the area where you have to fight those pesky Mindflayers and Drakans during random battles.

Anyway, check out the screenshots below. Final Fantasy Tactics: The Lion War is slated for a May 10 release in Japan. For some moving pictures, check out this previous post.

This blogger is right. That is the scene where Delita joins you in defending Ovelia. And yes, The very annoying Mindflare area. Also home of a single Black chocobo, if I remember correctly.

Am I the only one saddened that Squeenix didn't even TRY to touch up the game? I mean, I'm all for a faithful port, but they could at least Anti-Alias the text. Or bring the graphics up to native resolution instead of relying on scaling. How about optimizing the OSD/HUD for a wide-screen layout? Instead of clustering everything towards the middle, exactly the way it looked on a 4:3 screen, try actually spreading it out a little. And stop compensating for overscan. It looks like they just took an FFT disc image, overrode some of the display functions in POPS, and remapped the keys.

If it weren't for the multiplayer functions in Lion War, I'd just tell everyone to go out, buy a copy of FFT for PSX, and emulate it.
