The tracks of success of Monster Hunter Freedom are still fresh (650,000 sold in Japan, making it the biggest PSP title to date) but here comes Monster Hunter Portable 2 (to be known in the U.S. as Monster Hunter Freedom 2) anyway. According to Famitsu, the sequel begins in Pokke, a village headed by a female chief but the main setting is the snowy mountains around the village. But the gameplay areas extend to a forest, a desert, a volcano and a swamp.

If the snowy mountain area looks familiar it's because they were featured in Monster Hunter 2 (PS2). But unlike the PS2 title, Monster Hunter Portable 2 does not have its the day-night-season time flow system where conditions change as the game is played. The PSP version features quests taking place at set times of the day. Other PS2 elements carried over to the PSP's Monster Hunter Portable 2 includes the samurai blade, the hunting horn, and the long bow. Famitsu also mentioned wireless play and downloadable content but didn't provide the details.

Pathetic game, for pathetic people.

I am sick and tired of these games like MHF, WoW, and all other online RPGs. They have horrible gameplay, and repetitive missions. The only point of these stupid ass games, is to take advantage of pathetic people by making them feel like they are accomplishing something. Basically, these games are to stroke your electronic penis, the more armor and better weapons you have, the more these nerds feel like they are better, and above the newer players. It is not only pathetic, it sickens me.

Monster Hunter isn't an online RPG, I'm not sure if it's an RPG at all. Your character doesn't have stats and doesn't level up, the only things that you can improve are your skill (as in gamers skill), armor and weapon. It's a great and fun game. I'm waiting for this one, I hope that there will be more wyverns out, and that you will be able to play using your MHF1 character.

Har har

MH is an RPG. As a role-playing game, you aren't playing yourself out there. You're playing the role of a Noob Hunter who strives to own and become the best damn Monsta Hunta anyone's ever seen since Cheats and Hacks came out for it [the game].
