In the final stretch of the wait for Valkyria Chronicle 2's arrival, Sega finally confirms the great news that there will indeed be mission DLCs coming for the game.
In an interview with Japanese magazine Famitsu, Sega disclosed that for this sequel, they will be adopting a system similar to what they did in the first game (on the PS3), wherein they will be releasing a series of mission content packs through the PlayStation Store.
These mission packs will then add to the already-bursting with action of 30-40 hours of gameplay. Do keep in mind that there will be unlockables as well, and that these will be password protected.
Valkyria Chronicles 2 releases next week.

Want extra characters, classes that aren't in the original game. Pay $5 a piece. Want an extra battle. $5. Want hard mode. $5. Whatever it is, you have to pay out the ass for these extras. Making a game that's only $30-40 turn into something that's $100-200 if you want a complete game.
The other thing is that none of the DLC will ever stay with you. If you happen to have a memory stick or hard drive 10 years and it just so happens to become corrupted or it's accidently deleted or something after servers are shut down, there is no way you're ever getting any of the DLC back again. You're screwed.
I am highly against DLC.

I, for one, welcome DLC with open arms. It doesn't mean the game is unfinished, it simply means that the devs decided to add more content over time. Look at all of the DLC available for Megaman Powered Up. I didn't play that game until last summer, after all of the DLC had been released, and it took me quite a while to download all of it on a broadband connection.

Old games used to bundle all their DLC up into a pack and call it an expansion pack or just release a mini sequel. Now devs do gouge people with DLC, which is almost always so poorly implemented. It felt worthwhile back then. Now they charge a few £ for some textures. Lolno.
Take Metal Slug XX coming out soon on the PSP. They're going to charge extra for an unlockable character. Why not, since the game isn't out yet, include that with the game itself? These tactics have put me off buying the game - and I'm a big fan of the series. I'll stick to Anthology on the PSP.
Infact I make an effort not to buy games with ridiculous DLC. EA games charging real money for cheat codes? No. This is why I didn't buy Burnout (and the DRM).
The only DLC games I own are Fallout 3 and Oblivion but I bought the complete collections on Steam, £20 each with all DLC included. Separately I'm sitting on a gold mine.
Fuck off DLC. Give us the full game or do a Valve and release new things for free.

i may not be sure about how it works on the psp but isn't it on the ps3 if u accidently have a HD error or u delete your dlc. can't you just redownload it as the PSN store has a log of you buying it? sides theres also Safe memorystick backup when you buy it?

I remember a QJ user saying "that's out entertainment, giving thumbs", really? I can think of better things as ENTERTAINMENT.
btw, I'm not into this game and never been.
Take care you all.
