For those who missed the big news yesterday, here you go guys, the first gameplay trailer of the hotly anticipated Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker x Monster Hunter collaboration.
The surprise crossover content will start when Trenya, one of the adventuring felynes from Monster Hunter, invites Snake to an island inhabited by different creatures and boss-class monsters. According to reports, the collaboration was all Hideo Kojima's idea, after meeting Capcom's producer Ryozo Tsujimoto in a Tokyo Game Show afterparty three years ago. In an interview published by Famitsu, Kojima revealed:
The game's set in Costa Rica, right? That was the location they used to film Jurassic Park, so it'd be the perfect place for Monster Hunter's creatures, I figured it'd be the perfect opportunity. If we had tried to organize this through our respective companies, I doubt it would've gone nearly as smoothly.
Capcom's Tsujimoto also confirmed that the bonus content will defenitely included in the western release of the game:
It's true that Monster Hunter isn't that well-known a name overseas yet, That's why we appreciate this so much. They're really trying something new and interesting with Peace Walker, so if we can catch Japanese gamers' attention as well with this tie-in and get them to try it out, then I'm glad to help out with that.
