Just a few weeks more and Rock Band: Unplugged finally gets plugged into retail. The previous gameplay trailer left more room for wanting so maybe here's something to make up for it - new footage with songs which have slightly more "rock" to them.

Here's a video preview of the game, care of IGN. It discusses the basics of the game, more of concern being the switching from instrument to instrument. Looks like it needs quite a bit of getting used to, but what the hey - guess that's supposed to make up for the limited single-player only campaign.

I would have preferred the use of a peripheral. You could just plug it into the spot the Go! Cam goes into, and turn your PSP upside down and play using different colored buttons. The experience would be like Guitar Hero for the DS.

That + Frequency was exactly what I was thinking after seeing this. Nice to see that they're sort of visiting them again. I've been waiting for another one of those types of games to come along, for console or PSP :D

and there could be a strap and an optional analog stick for lefties to act as a strumbar, it would just be a projected stick. man, why do portables lack ingenuity -.-' it uses the same controls as pspr and whatnot... Sony still hasn't learned from our homebrew developments and concepts yet -.-'
