kojima-walkerWorried that something might have gone wrong with Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker that's why it got delayed? You shouldn't worry too much. Hideo Kojima's reassured the fans that it will be retaining the fun that got you loving the franchise, and no, it won't even dilute it at all.

In the latest issue of UK's Official PlayStation Magazine, Kojima-san said that making the game for the PSP was definitely a challenge, but he promised that they will be delivering a game which will "rediscover the fun" of its predecessors.

"I am not aiming at old-style gameplay [for Peace Walker]. What I want to do is rediscover the basic fun of what MGS has to offer, and push the limit in a 3D form."

It was particularly a challenge for the team because they've been used to developing for the PS2 and PS3, but not on the handheld version of the PlayStation.

"Most of the staff work on more sophisticated hardware, such as PS3 and you can't really do the same things [on PSP]. As a games designer it is really challenging, because you have to come up with ideas to overcome issues. There are many of these."

He furthered, "But there are good things on PSP, too. On the PS3, there was a massive workload, and I didn't have time to come up with new tricks. This time, [we] could really concentrate on it. It may be good for the staff, too - stepping down on the technology and wringing out ideas to make the impossible, possible."

Oh, and on the delay, he says it's definitely "a crime." We concur, good sir. We concur.

Actually, if you had studied Japanese you'd know that you can indeed say Kojima-san, as "-san" is universal and can be used with anyone, regardless of their sex or status. In fact, you must always say at least san, because using just the name in Japan is extremely impolite.

I have studied Japanese, and it is more customary to use the suffix -san when saying the name of, or referring to a female. -kun or -sama would make more sense, and no, you don't always have to use -san, it might be impolite to just say the name of the person, but I never said they should just say Kojima, I said they should have said kun or sama.

NO EDIT
Though it may be true -san is used as a general term, it is better to use a more defined term for someone that EVERYONE knows. (And no, it isn't JUST the equivalent to Mr. or Mrs. it can be used many more ways, It is far to general for someone like Hideo.
(And yeah, made a mistake, my japanese is a bit rusty, Kun is speaking to someone younger than yourself, so unless someone on here is like 60, Hideo would be a -sama.)

But yeah, -sama would be more appropriate in this situation.

san is a generalized mr. and ms. no error with that.

anyway, Kojima-sama (yep, 0m3GA ARS3NAL's right!) sure is expanding reaches for the psp this time. surely this would write to gaming history better than Kingdom Hearts BBS and Strikeforce.

If you don't know anything please just shut it.

The suffix -san is comparable to the english Mr. or Mrs.

The suffix -kun is used for a male person you know well or is younger than you.

Tsk, tsk... the people on the net nowadays. Talk about crap they know nothing about.

+1 # and now, about THE GAMEGuest 2010-02-08 22:21
I hope he left in plenty of his style humor, I love the lil easter eggs he uses. The demo was excellent, I still play it over and over again. I'd like to personally thank him for using the fulton system instead of the "drag the enemy to a truck or another cardboard box" method. It took me forever to get my tech level to 99 because of this @_@

When is the game supposed to be released?
