Yesterday was a big day for PlayStation and a lot of people did a little something-something to commemorate the event. For Hideo Kojima and MGS artist Yoji Shinkawa, they took a pair of ordinary PSPs, and with a few scribbles of a marker, turned them into must-have rarities. It's that sort of Midas-Touch magic that guys like them have.

They didn't turn the portables into gold, but for the avid collector, they're just as good. Kojima has his signature on the one on top, while Yoji Shinkawa has his on the one below, but he throws in a little extra by doodling Big Boss on the other side. Wish I could doodle as well as that, on a fat marker no less.

So where are hese bad boys going? There's gonna be a contest in Vol.460 of Dengeki PlayStation, so expect the Japanese to raid the racks when it comes out.

It's probably covered with some sort of sealant to prevent that

Oh yeah, and it probably isn't going to be played, just like if I gave you a piece of paper with Michael Jackson's signature.. Just because it's a paper doesn't mean you're gonna rip it in half and put your number on it to give to a girl. And I hate this new (original?) comment system

# so awesome!Guest 2009-12-04 13:58
Kojima's PSP would cost more but I'd be happy with either Shinkawa created Snake's image so they are equally important. I hope these guys go down in history as one of the greatest game directors, to keep something fresh and so unique from 1987 up to 2010 takes mad skillz and I means skillllzz. :D

Cause I was reading too fast and looking at the picture with excitement I missed the "They didn't turn the portables into gold" pfft! Kojima could sign his name on a condom wrapper and it would still be worth more then gold it self!

the one below. It looks more like a special PSP, than a normal one with an autograph written on it.

I know a few people who have signed products, some carried on using them and now they're smudged/faded. The rest locked them sealed away!
My old DS Lite is signed by the director of Zelda and Shigsy. Which is ironic that I really feckin dislike the DS Zelda games.

I think this new comments system is awesome, but it seems bots/spammers are posting...

Anyway, I would want Kojima's for one reason:
I can get a second battery cover and put the one he signed either on ebay or in a safe place.
