Sony Computer Entertainment has announced that the PSP math puzzle game "Kazuo" will be released on April 27. Price 2,800 JPY ($23.7 USD). The AdHoc V.S. function will also be available in this title.

This game is similar to the famous math puzzle game Sudoko, in which the aim of the puzzle is to enter a numeral from 1 through 9 in each cell of a grid, most frequently a 9×9 grid made up of 3×3 subgrids (called "regions"), starting with various numerals given in some cells (the "givens"). Each row, column and region must contain only one instance of each numeral.

There will be 1000 puzzled available in the game, and divided into 4 difficulty levels. Multiplayer mode will be able to support up to 4 players playing at the same time. The wireless mode to be used will be the AdHoc mode.

sudoku

I Fail to see how this is different from sudoku in the slightest, I'm not particularly interested in either game, but IMO such a blatant clone in a bit pathetic, especially since anyone can download a sudoku generator legally for free. for me making it colourful/shiny just isn't enough.

yeah you are right

color is not so important for sudoku, but the brain yeah

No, you're wrong

It is Sudoku. It's the European Sumo Digital-developed 'Go! Sudoku!' rebadged and released for the Japanese market. I don't know why they changed the name, presumably because Sudoku isn't actually the Japanese name, which is a bit crazy in itself.

err.. no

Just like to point out that it isnt a "math puzzle" either

This is one of the best Sudoku games out, though

I bought the euro version of Go! Sudoku (and this is indeed the same game, renamed). The controls are very nicely done, and the helper features make life less tedious without reducing the difficulty. The timers add an extra element of challenge, and the mellow soundtrack and animated backgrounds add a nice ambience to it all. Although there are homebrew Sudoku versions that are almost as good, I do recommend this version because in my opinion, the extra features and polish are worth the very low (currently about £15 new) price tag.

Yep. It is a math puzzle. You need to be able to add up numbers to solve it.. plenty math...

wth, what does this game has to do with math? other than knowing the symbols of 1 to 9, there's nothing related to math beside, i'm totally not going to buy this because of those background, even downloading this iso would be a waste of time

You don't have to add up anything you brainless moron, the numbers could be replaced with anything: letters, shapes, colours. Its a logic game, not a "math" game. Well done for spelling your own name correctly though.. or did you.

Multiplayer?

Logic is essentially equivalent to math and therefore it also could be considered a math game (or rather, a puzzle). Also, the numbers in each column, row, and square, add up to 45 which is math. (And the generation of the puzzles is some intense math for sure.) From what I've heard, the sudoku game originated in a Japanese puzzle magazine under the same name. It's odd why they changed the name. What I don't see is the need for multiplayer... Is it cooperative play? Either way, it seems foolish, as you can cooperate on 1 psp rather than waste battery life on 2-4 psps. I'd probably rather just play it on paper as with that there's no staring at a screen. It's also easier to make notes.
