KazuoThe latest software update (Japan only) will now allow PSP owners to use the Internet Browser to download demo version of games to their memory stick. Aside from Loco Roco, Kazuo is the first game to make use of this feature. The demo of this Sudoku game will require 6MB of free space. Download the game via the Japan Playstation site and place it in the memory stick under PSPGAMEUCJS10036.

Since it will require v2.71 firmware, I doubt many - or no - American gamers will be able to try their hands on this 100-puzzled game. If you really want to test how Kazuo plays and is up for a firmware upgrade, then a little patience and an American system update may *soon* come your way.

You don't need 2.71 to play the demo, all it adds is support for network downloading. I'm playing it on my 2.7, the same way the LocoRoco demo loads.

» That was supposed to be "Kazuo's" gameplay.

But I digress. Wonder if this really is the only reason they patched 2.71...

» ..i wonder

you know that exploit where you have to switch memory sticks to run homebrew on 1.5, before the kxploit was discovered.

what if you booted up this demo and switched memory sticks. on the other memory stick you could put the same folder name and location but with a different homebrew. im probally bein dum and naive but this might work. someone please either try it or cyber slap me for bein ignorant.

» heh

I wonder if these updates that get demos released alongside them, have written in them the specific names of programs that are allowed to run, as well as the key in the game itself.

by n8NMONSTER - 2006-06-01 06:19
» updated and checked it out on mine:

The Kazuo demo is the jap version of the Go! Sudoku 5-puzzle game shared demo, with the x and o buttons switched.

Not bad to pass the time, also doesnt have the "Attention Please Wait" pop-up of the UMD.

by Garrett - 2006-06-01 07:28
» just played kazuo

I dont even understand how to play sudoku, but that was fun. reminds me of lumines on ritalin. sort of.

by Shatterdome - 2006-06-01 07:32
» ...

If you updated can you not run these demo's on an NA PSP as well ? I've heard the games are region free.

My GF has a Jap white PSP that came as a 2.5, and we have no intentions of buying GTA to get homebrew, so we updated it....Loco Roco is fun stuff, have to check this one out when she gets home.

I just translated the pages on my computer then copied and pasted it into my PSP with a USB cord (you have to make the folders it says yourself). its in japanese but its pretty simple and easy to understand. wierdest game I have ever played though.

» the download could not be completed

the idea was that u could download and play demos without a pc. seems this doesnt work...

by Kev - 2006-06-01 10:34
» Ya know

I wouldn't be suprised if Sony is kind of worried about modchip. Altough we still don't know how it works there have been background info and pictures of were it's placed so it can very well be Sony aready has an idea of how it's gonna work.

It would be their smartest idea yet to let people update now before the mod chip is out.

» Re: Soduko

yea, questionare, kazuo is the japanese version of Go! Sudoku.

the demo itself is a jap version of the 5-puzzle game shared demo, with the x and o buttons switched, of course.

by staar - 2006-06-01 16:37
» maybe the future?

sony has been realeasing these games... they are eboots which boot up just fine from the game directory... kinda like a 1.5 PSP loads homebrew.. whats allowing it to run the associated eboot i.e. Locoroco....??? if they figure out why a 2.7+ PSP can run these eboots but not others, wouldn't that mean that we could run any eboot on a 2.7+ PSP???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

by Predator04 - 2006-06-01 20:42
» working with 2.7

For those that want to get it working with 2.7 i made the eboot work with 2.7.(not 2.71) Btw im using the anon comments so people that blocked them are ***** outa luck. serves them right?

» How to Download Kazuo Demo

Ok. To download Kazuo's EBOOT, here's the link http://www.jp.playstation.com/scej/title/kazuo/dl/trial_dl3_pc_c.html and click on Download. Its a 5.5MB file. It took me babelfish to search on the japanese playstation site. After downloading the eboot file, you will just need to put it in the said folders...that shouldn't be a prob. Tough luck on the language mates...Cheers!
