Is it real? Capcom lists PSP Devil May Cry on Japanese site

We have a case of either purely awesome news for the PSP or a lapse in updating on the part of Capcom's website people. A recent post from Joystiq has us taking notice of a mention of Devil May Cry for the PSP on Capcom's Japanese website.

Here's the thing. As far back as 2005, there were rumblings of a PSP DMC. We even thought that they'd make an announcement for the series at TGS back in 2006, but that never really came to pass. Two years later, this pops up, but it could just be an unchanged announcement from way back when.

What's weird, however, is that this site listing keeps getting updated with new Capcom PSP games, but that one notice has never been taken down. Here's to hoping it actually means what we all hope it does: that Dante will be doing crazy killer combos on the PSP.

It could be a mistake, but I really hope it's not. They should really do a DMC for PSP.

It would be nice to think that Capcom saw GoW and thought "challenge accepted!"

Though I'd also like to see some other capcom games - Marvel vs Capcom for one (even though I can emulate it). They have some top arcade games that are crying out for PSP editions.

Wow I know you PSP people are desperate but come on, the last DMC game was terrible compared to the first 2. I don't get why people get excited about series that start bad and get worse, or are always bad such as the Killzone series.

Wonder why this took so long to come out. Its been in development since before psp came out. Im glad to see devil may cry but a resident evil (classic adventure style) was coming out instead. Outbreak would be fun on psp.

The first game was awesome, but the 2nd was crap compared to that! Number 3 + 4 are amazing as well (just look at any reviews). I happily look forward to a psp incarnation. As for Killzone, I'm pretty sure the developers have seen their mistakes and know how much is riding on this next title so that will be great too.

Those are some pretty damn good rankings.

Also, Killzone PSP was fun as hell, and netted about an 80% at both sites. Again, a very good score.

People like Devil May Cry. Just because you don't doesn't change the fact that for every one hater there are 10s to 100s of people who love the game series.
