Guess what Peace Walker used to be called

It may be a portable release, but you better believe Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker isn't some offshoot side story. Need more proof? You need only look at the game's old title.

Yep, it was originally called Metal Gear Solid 5: Peace Walker. Kojima Productions' PR manager Jiro Oishi, who posted the above image in his column on the KojiPro blog, explains that Peace Walker was envisioned to be MGS 5 from the start. The number may be gone, but Oishi believes that the game's content is at the highest level of the series' numbered titles.

So now we know for sure which game the "5" that appeared in the pre-E3 teaser meant.

let's face it, shooters on the psp aren't exaclty comfortable.

peace walkers controls are pretty innovative, but the problem is aiming with the face buttons, which is awkward, but doable.
but nooo, let's add in some delay in the aiming controls for no reason.
that and the crappy framerate makes this game annoying to play.

i'll give it 1 playthrough.

Cry about a complex game being on the PSP a bit more. The frame rate is perfectly stable, especially for the graphics this game is displaying. You will never have perfect controls for this type of genre, but what they have definitely works. But delay? What the...

I don't think you played the same game as everyone else.

Sorry to disappoint you, but he is right. When aiming over the shoulder and moving the crosshair, it has to stop moving in order for snake's gun to catch up which makes shooting abit tough.

I saw a screen shot of a psp 3k running MGS:PW, It had a kind of, idk, quarter shaped grooved d-pad style thing covering the buttons. I hope that comes with it, it would make controlling the camera a lot easier

Or you could just control it like MGS:PO, which has its own set of problems/perks.

Very good story and gameplay from the demo, can't wait for may :-)

if they make this an uber anti-piracy game that could only EVER work on ofw, then i think sony would have solved all its problems.

hopefully that dosen't happen because i would be torn between homebrew and mgs5

It was always intended to be the next game in the series. They said so last E3. Rising is a complete spin-off being created by the "young" Konami team, none of the MGS4 group.

This isn't too uncommon. I've seen game pitches that were described as INSERT POPULAR IP 2, with the name later changed once they acquired funding and permission.

guys, they say never criticize something you haven't fully seen yet. so please wait for may.

anyways, those who would really want to play it wont care about the controls, they want the story and Kojima's "traditional-adhoc-multiplayer-socialization-of-going-to-your-friend's-house-to-play-together" strategy.

me, i wanna play because i'm curious of the VOCALOID addon on the guns. hahaha lol.
