God of War: Chains of Olympus is probably one of the most anticipated video games for the PlayStation Portable. As for now, no announcements regarding the release date has been made but you've seen screens, and you've read details. Today, we've got new gameplay trailers.

Fortunately for all of us, the folks at Ready at Dawn Studios decided to give the people at Sony's Spring Gamers' Day a treat: two new God of War: Chains of Olympus previews.

Below are two videos. The first one features a sea side conflict being rudely interrupted by a cyclops and then by something with a lot more teeth. The second one shows of the many uses of a ballista.

» oh

nice video, looks cool.

important:

the psp does not have a right analog stick/nub, so i read at qj a few days ago that there won't be this "rolling-dodge" feature, but in this vid kratos does roll a few times.

Maybe the control for rolling is to hold a button and then move the analog nub ob the psp.

by bigp - 2007-05-17 02:04
» yes you can roll

L trigger+R trigger+analog nub in the direction you want to roll

by ! - 2007-05-17 02:06
» rolling

it's L+R+Nub, it shows it in the first video

» 30fps

the video makes the game look like it will run at 30fps rather than 60fps like the other God of Wars...oh well. nothing like overclocking to 333

» heh

nice loading bit right when kratos starts flinging those blades... lol

not to mention the awesome framerate

by woo_t_fook - 2007-05-17 04:55
» torrent demo

Since Sony is ignorant enough not to think they should do downloadable demos, and instead they do a damn UMD demo, i think it can somewhat benefit those with 1.5 and custom firmwares. We can download and run an ISO of the demo, and the chumps with official firmwares cant.

I'll be sure to rip it when i get it. I believe nobody's gotten their demo yet...

In the first video, when the demon broke through the door with the giant club as Kratos went to open it, I was like, "Whoa, that was pretty f'in sweet," but when the giant... whatever.. came in and ate him, I was speechless.

This game, will own.

» :(

Noticed the same thing.

"Eww. 30 fps?"

It looks more like 24 fps...

It just doesn't look as fluent as the console versions.

by itsFLASH - 2007-05-17 06:29
» Its FLASH

Its a flash vid of course its going to be at 30 fps...its on f+++ing youtube.

anyways im sure the God Of War WILL be at 60 fps so shut your face lol

by ky0_Sama - 2007-05-17 06:31
» whoa

damn. If this game turns out to be as good as I think it will, I'll actually buy it instead of just downloading the ISO. I'd encourage everyone else out there on custom fw or 1.5 to do the same. We need to support games like this and show Sony what we really want out of our PSP's.

» Hotness but worried

The game looks awesome but the loading screens scare me.

by Volvagia - 2007-05-17 06:48
» What? PSP?

Damn, this game looks hot! I can barely wait for it to be played on my psp! The graphics almost look like the ps2 versions!

by true - 2007-05-17 07:17
» sup

That's true man....good to actually buy the games once in a while...I would actually love to have the umd for this game. so there is no iso downloading for me.

by ness - 2007-05-17 07:46
» this game is hot

GOD OF WAR is gonna be *****in awesome. but wtf is up wit the loading screens?

by Jin - 2007-05-17 07:51
» ...

No kiddin' men. I mean yeah don't get me wrong I don't own many PSP games... at all.. and yes I use ISO's, but this is a must-buy, I'll always want this with me.

by ROBBiEmd - 2007-05-17 08:00
» same!

same here man!i have to support a game this good by only buying it!no iso/cso for me!

by DaBigM - 2007-05-17 08:04
» nice...

We get to fight a Rancor... AWESOME!!!

by GaveUpTomorrow - 2007-05-17 08:08
» plain and simple...

if you didn't pay for the game, don't run the iso...its illegal...and illegal to download the iso regardless of if you own the game or not. Of course, no one seems to care about that anymore, because you're you're all cheap-os. I own all of the games I play even though I am on custom firmware...because I abide by the law. It scares me to see how many of you a-holes out there just steal property without even thinking about...ya, you'll get far in life...

by Jin - 2007-05-17 08:14
» ...

Ah theres enough people trying to say that, but like you said, no one cares, so why bother? ; )

"You'll get far in life because you download ISO's." Lmao.

by ahh - 2007-05-17 08:48
» ya

The case and booklet that comes with it is gonna be worth the buy alone, so definitely buy this game!

by Wicked_Insider - 2007-05-17 09:36
» Yes Yes...

I agree! Oh and I haven't received my demo UMD yet either. I wonder how long it will take before we start to received it in the mail?

by kniteowl - 2007-05-17 10:39
» I doubt it will be 60fps

I'd be happy if it ran smooth on 30fps really... It looks awesome and despite the processing power behind the PSP, I think that some of that visual quality is at the sacrifice of framerate. But as long as its stable and playable, it'll be good.

by dufh - 2007-05-17 10:46
» um yeah

Yeah dude, cause you can _totally_ tell the difference between 24 and 30 fps in a video game from a youtube video...

by adf - 2007-05-17 17:10
» OVERCLOCK?

Will this game run at 333mhz. It was rumored on a forum that developers would be able to have this option? Was it a false rumor? If so that is pretty ghey, forget about homebrew. Sony puts a huge bottleneck on their system.

by agreeer - 2007-05-17 21:37
» what he said...

yes! .

by lemmingboy - 2007-05-18 00:08
» @gaveuptomorrow

» Berries and cream

Yes, this is the real little lad from the infamous berries and cream starburst commercial. When I was a little lad, and I wanted berries and cream, mummy used to make me do the berries and cream dance. Now, mummy's gone. Nevertheless, I still do the berries and cream dance whenever I hear or see berries and cream starbursts. So, as a special treat on this comment, I will now do the dance for all of you! You look lovely!

"Berries and cream, berries and cream, I'm a little lad who loves berrriiieess aanndd cccrrrreeeaaamm !"
