German Airline offers PSP on flight |
Ó
German airline Germanwings and Sony are cooperating to offer something unique to customers of the Airline. Flights to Amsterdam, London, Barcelona, Prague, Rome or Paris have PSPs on board.Yep, customers (sorry online translation is a bit weird, you can check out the source link we've got below for yourself) get access to a white PSPs with "Sony's Passport to" UMD on it. From what we understand, the user can get access to points of interest about their destination, maps, videos, etc.
It makes sense when you think about it; a white PSP is definitely better than a normal boring travel guide. Especially now that Sony is so popular in Europe (we jest, we jest with the link, all in good fun really).
Thanks to Simon for the heads up on this one.

just like that sega thing aint it?
I wonder if people will try to steal the PSPs, they might want to try mounting them to the seats somehow.
This has already made front page before like 3 to 4 months ago.
So it's safe to use psp while flying.... right?
godaym Germans! yeah they need to mount that ***** to the seats cause people like me might "accidently" put it in their pockets and forget in the rush to get off the plane...o yeah wtf i thought you couldnt have your PSP on the plane..
Of course you can have a PSP on the plane. You just need to have the WLAN switch off.
"Sony works together with the airline "Germanywings" to offer the customer a special service. Flies to Amsterdam, London, Barcelona, Prag, Rom or Paris have PSPs on board that feature Sony's "Passport to..." UMDs. That way you can easily be informed about the oncomng city while flying. Super thing! The Software doesn't just feature images of selected POI (Points of Interest), but also video data, voice recordings and maps. Perfect if you've forgotten your tour guide or if you wish some multimedia-based information. More images after the Link."

you could always have a psp on the plain, but just like every other electrical device you had to have it off while you depart and arrive that the airport, and not to mention turn of the wan switch do to radio interferince. Also how are they going to know that you take a psp with you? They must write down what seats they give one to and before you start to decend take them back... i guess
Steal the psp^^^
I went to amsterdam 3 days ago and i got a psp to play with but it was a black vertion not white
hmm WALN switch on.
(airplane turn slideways)
ROFLMAOLOL!!!!!
I can't say it's that good of an idea as only gamers will have interests with this. As for non gamers it's pretty much useless
especially for watching movies, listening to music as the psps sound system is horrible add the sound of the plane engine & you'll hear nothing but humming engine.
Sony will offer free psp's on a flight but they wont drop prices? makes no sense at all.
You can use them on planes, and the WLAN thing, although your not SUPPOSED to use it, it wont cause any problems. Ive had phone calls on planes for christs sake. Even if some minor interfearance happened, the plane would switch from auto-pilot to manual, and the *****ing pilots get payed for a reason so they can do their *****in job.
