So, to celebrate the Feb 26 launch, Sony and RealTechVR have released this second trailer, complete with flashy lights and gameplay clips too!
Make sure to check out PSN next week to download the game (US$ 9.99). Meanwhile, as preparation, you might want to look back at the very first release the game's had back in '07, when it was still under the homebrew label. Download the demo below and see next week how huge the game's gotten.

Now, a year and a half later, they come out with No Gravity: Plague of Mind, for $9.99, on the PSN, basically the scourge of the PSP, and expect us to go through the hassle of using the PSN and paying for it. Well, here's my message to RealTechVR: No thanks.

There's always other methods xD
But I won't support someone that was making it for everyone to play for free to greedy bastards xD
Well they have to make their money I dont blame them.

People like you make me sick, then you all complain why we don't get good games for the psp. That's why the scene is dying because all the noobs like you that pirate everything, just get a job or get your lazy ass to buy a prepaid card D:

The battlefront games have a little bit of action, but the space combat isn't very involved. The bethesda trek game had some good space battles, but replaying Colony Wars is about all we really have.

I agree that one should support small game companies / devs to help them producemore and better game, but CFW users are NOT responsible for small variety of games.
People should stop spreading false information.
Check alek's blog for the proof.

But to actually pay for this... no thx
the controls in that prebuild version where way off and the overall gameplay gets boring real quick

The PSP is the highest pirated console in this gen. It is also the 2nd or 3rd best selling console this gen.
But yes, we do have a lack of good games but piracy is not the only responsible for it, but it helps. The main reason would be Sony's lack of direction to it...

When I buy something, I like to hold it in my hands...
When my memory card gets accidentally wiped, I still wish to own my game.
When some nephew, little brother or your own son accidentally presses delete... I still wish to play the game.
And to make it all worse for me, it ruins the idea of a video console... the idea was that you have the console, you plug in the game and play. That was the magic of Video game consoles. The last generation of consoles however are mire computers that are specialized in playing games. But when you wish to play a game you need to install stuff on your hard disk or download a bunch of crap from the Internet. If not, you're simply screwed... to make things worse with many games you need to pay on a monthly basis so you can play your game online. Which is probably the whole point of the game itself. and if you are unlucky then they'll stop supporting your game some day, and shut down that server... then you'll own nothing.
I'm a retro gamer, I know what it is to loose legends. Lets talk again in 20 years when this new generation of gamers realize that they lost there childhood pearls.

They're a bit of an inspiration, considering I want to become a Video game dev, and homebrew is one the reasons I want to become one. Then seeing these guys actually getting recognition for their work and gettign a job out of it, I feel good for them! Go RealTechVR!

It's amazing how everyone is just butthurt because they have to pay a small fee for a game of good quality.
They stated a long time ago that their goal was to get the game on the PSN some day. Have fun letting everyone know you'd rather pirate a game and busting someone's balls rather than helping these guys out buying the game. I'm not saying anyone is forced to buy the game, but to be angry over something so small and rather insignificant is what's really "greedy".
That goes to both of you, and anyone else with the same views on this matter.

I don't mind that you prefer to play on actual discs or cartridges, but what if you lose a disc? You'd have to re-buy it or get a copy from a friend.
The purpose for it being downloadable and cheap is because it's a small game. Take something like Katamari Damacy or Bomberman for example. These are more like arcade games, and would be suitable for a PSN or Xbox Live release.

And to be honest, RealTech VR can design and develop games very well, that's for sure!
Reply
Possibly.. because the 5% you talk about is enough to scare devs away from developing for the platform?

They are fulfilling their dream and you would criticize a man for living his dream? What kind of human are you?
Put your hand on your conscience and think clearly...

What it comes down to is that you won't be able to download it again once sony decides not to support psp or ps3 anymore. The network will be shut down and you have nothing.
Besides you don't really own the game at all. Where does is state that you own your game? The way it works now you are just licenced to download and play it on 1 system.
You won't even be able to play it on some emulator some day when psp's/ps3's die out since it would technically be illegal.

I love having stuff in my hands and whatnot, but I must admit that digital distribution is the future. Internet speeds are getting higher too and digitally games are always cheaper (at least for us here in PT). I have been a STEAM user since the beginning and I am very satisfied at the service they provide. I am also very satisfied with the PSN.
I don't think it will end any time soon... But I could be wrong...
And anyways, you can always make backups... I have one of my STEAM library.

He has PROVEN that there aren't many CFW users.
@JaXeRiR
I don't doubt that pirating scares away developers and it's definitely a bad thing if a consol lacks good games because of pirating, but I doubt that such a small number of users would comparitive have such a big impact on the sales.
Reply
Keep in mind that not every user of CFW has internet, I can think of, and just out of the top of my head, of at least 10 people who have NEVER connected to the internet on CFW. And I bet you there are many many more like that.
From what I've read, Alek's numbers are of PSP's that connected to PSN through CFW. That's no way to measure the popularity of CFW. And those numbers mean that there are at least 22k PSPs that have CFW, but I betcha there are at least 5 times that.
And piracy does lead dev's away from making games for a console
i.e.
Best Selling PSP Game: GTA: LCS - 5m
after that games barely scratch the 3m mark... It is a sign, especially if you consider there are 50m PSPs out there

I'm quoting alek here:
"[...]
Maximum value calculated lately from the other releases was about 150k PSP's.
So, having in mind that there are how much? 38.96M PSP's on the World (http://vgchartz.com/), so there are only a 0,39% of the total ones using the Network Update [; we can conclude that...
... not more than an 8% of total World PSP's are with a CFW. (based on that statistics, tbh is a huge estimation, it should go about a 5% atm)"
5 % already is a big estimated number.
So 5 %? Even if one would assume that EVERY CFW user would pirate every game, that still wouldn't enough to be considered the main reason for the problems, if you ask me.
And I just don't like to see people thinking piracy is the main reason for the PSP's lack of game.

I have spoke this laregly with other game dev's and I'm going to exemplify with the PSP vs. DS example.
The fact that the PSP is piratable is common knowledge around the internet, and don't think dev's do not know about it. That is enough to scare away the dev's. The PSP has 5% CFW's, but dev's do not make the distinction CFW is not equal Piracy. So we have a fear of 5% of losses in game dev'ing.
Furthermore, knowing this dev's have to make a choice: Do I make a game for a console with a 5% of loss or do I do it for a console where the loss will not equal 1% (DS)? Ubisoft for example preferred the DS over the PSP.
The specter of piracy scares dev's away and that's something you cannot escape from, no matter how much you love CFW

Not a single one of them will shut down the service until they go out of business or until some mythical new medium comes along. They have no reason to shut it down. They'll continue to expand all the services, features, connectivity, everything.
Oh, and it DOES state that you own your game. Highlight the game on the XMB, press Triangle, and go to Information or whatever, and it'll say who owns the game.. Just saying. You buy the game, it's on your account forever.
Works the same way with discs. You might buy the game, but your name isn't the disc or anything. You just went to the store, plopped down money, they give it to you and you walk away without setting any alarms off.

They're ripping off Rogue Leader, claiming it to be the best homebrew game ever (ego) and then turning their back on the scene?
Sorry, but no. I won't be buying this.
