Man. I can still remember writing about this back in 2007 when it was first released as a homebrew demo! Back then, I was floored. And now, paint me plastered on deck. No Gravity: Plague of Mind has come so far from its early beginnings. And already, it's finally getting its PSN release next week.

So, to celebrate the Feb 26 launch, Sony and RealTechVR have released this second trailer, complete with flashy lights and gameplay clips too!

Make sure to check out PSN next week to download the game (US$ 9.99). Meanwhile, as preparation, you might want to look back at the very first release the game's had back in '07, when it was still under the homebrew label. Download the demo below and see next week how huge the game's gotten.

cause it was just so hard to actually kill something, but screw paying $10.00, well its just inconvenient for us people without credit cards, i'm just gonna download a hacked version, like that hacked demo for Resistance:Retr ibution. :) I Love CFW, Thanks DA, cause now we can even rip-off other Homebrew-ers.

Got to a department store and get a prepaid MasterCard. You don't have to be 18 and they come in 25, 50 and 100 amounts. you just buy and use it.

In the beginning RealTechVR claimed No Gravity was going to be the best highest quality homebrew game ever made, they were well on the right track too, but then sent out a message that said, "forget you homebrew community".

Now, a year and a half later, they come out with No Gravity: Plague of Mind, for $9.99, on the PSN, basically the scourge of the PSP, and expect us to go through the hassle of using the PSN and paying for it. Well, here's my message to RealTechVR: No thanks.

I love space combat games. Anyone remember freespace with BSG mods?

The battlefront games have a little bit of action, but the space combat isn't very involved. The bethesda trek game had some good space battles, but replaying Colony Wars is about all we really have.

There are definitely no more than 5 % of all PSP owners using CFW. So how could this be the reason for the lack of good games?

I agree that one should support small game companies / devs to help them producemore and better game, but CFW users are NOT responsible for small variety of games.

People should stop spreading false information.

Check alek's blog for the proof.

The game looked good for homebrew standards

But to actually pay for this... no thx

the controls in that prebuild version where way off and the overall gameplay gets boring real quick

Do some research and you'll find out the main PSP piracy site site has almost 1m users registered on it... And that's just one the ohter one has almost 90000... And I'm not counting the number of people that use mininova.

The PSP is the highest pirated console in this gen. It is also the 2nd or 3rd best selling console this gen.

But yes, we do have a lack of good games but piracy is not the only responsible for it, but it helps. The main reason would be Sony's lack of direction to it...

uugghhh. some of you people are really disrespectful. realtechVR have spent years making this awesome game. they deserve all the money they get, i would happily pay even £15 for this game, but it is worth so much more and although some of you say this is not as good quality as other companies games, you are WRONG. this is way better than the garbage that developers make these days for the psp. just download it and enjoy the best psp game you will have played for a long time.

# One reason why I wouldn't buy this gameDrWho1980 2009-02-22 03:27
Regardless the fact that this game might be the best game I ever played or not, I wouldn't consider buying it on psn. Although the price of US$ 10 is a very low and decent price for such a game, the fact that you end up with only a bunch of bites on a memory card makes the whole idea unattractive.

When I buy something, I like to hold it in my hands...

When my memory card gets accidentally wiped, I still wish to own my game.

When some nephew, little brother or your own son accidentally presses delete... I still wish to play the game.

And to make it all worse for me, it ruins the idea of a video console... the idea was that you have the console, you plug in the game and play. That was the magic of Video game consoles. The last generation of consoles however are mire computers that are specialized in playing games. But when you wish to play a game you need to install stuff on your hard disk or download a bunch of crap from the Internet. If not, you're simply screwed... to make things worse with many games you need to pay on a monthly basis so you can play your game online. Which is probably the whole point of the game itself. and if you are unlucky then they'll stop supporting your game some day, and shut down that server... then you'll own nothing.

I'm a retro gamer, I know what it is to loose legends. Lets talk again in 20 years when this new generation of gamers realize that they lost there childhood pearls.

Come on, these guys went from being homebrew devs to being proper devs, where they're actually getting paid for this. I for one, support them entirely.

They're a bit of an inspiration, considering I want to become a Video game dev, and homebrew is one the reasons I want to become one. Then seeing these guys actually getting recognition for their work and gettign a job out of it, I feel good for them! Go RealTechVR!

youre completly right. i hate downloading updates for games that seem to do absolutely nothing and i like to buy games that come in boxes, so i can unwrap it, maybe sniff the new box smell. and have my own disc and manual. not some download that costs more than the actual disc.

You're just pissed because you wasted a year waiting for a high quality free game, instead of using your life savings which is apparently around $10 to buy the game off the PS Store? How is using the PSN a hassle? That's the first time I've actually heard of anyone complaining about using the PSN.

It's amazing how everyone is just butthurt because they have to pay a small fee for a game of good quality.

They stated a long time ago that their goal was to get the game on the PSN some day. Have fun letting everyone know you'd rather pirate a game and busting someone's balls rather than helping these guys out buying the game. I'm not saying anyone is forced to buy the game, but to be angry over something so small and rather insignificant is what's really "greedy".

That goes to both of you, and anyone else with the same views on this matter.

# Sorry to burst your bubble but...NarooN 2009-02-22 05:58
Even if you accidentally or purposely delete the game, you can re-download it an infinite number of times right back onto your memory stick.

I don't mind that you prefer to play on actual discs or cartridges, but what if you lose a disc? You'd have to re-buy it or get a copy from a friend.

The purpose for it being downloadable and cheap is because it's a small game. Take something like Katamari Damacy or Bomberman for example. These are more like arcade games, and would be suitable for a PSN or Xbox Live release.

Possibly.. because the 5% you talk about is enough to scare devs away from developing for the platform?

As a game designer/storywriter it makes me sad to see people like you turn your back on them. Yes, it is not them that are turning their backs on you, but you on them.

They are fulfilling their dream and you would criticize a man for living his dream? What kind of human are you?

This is AMAZING. Everyone who is complaining, I don't know about you, but this game might be one of the best looking homebrew, AND PSN releases i have seen to date. Looks like SO much fun. And me for one, who was not able to downgrade his PSP, am happy that i will get to play it. You have to give these guys props. This is the story of a DREAM. They did not say, Screw you, to the homebrew community. No. they just were living the dream. They went from a tiny homebrew development team, to a PSN dev team. Its great. So what if you have a hacked PSP. you will STILL get to play it. Just buy it. Or, keep the homebrew demo. Whatever floats your boat. But atleast, ENJOY IT.

# But what if Sony stops PSN one day?DrWho1980 2009-02-22 08:12
@NarooN :

What it comes down to is that you won't be able to download it again once sony decides not to support psp or ps3 anymore. The network will be shut down and you have nothing.

Besides you don't really own the game at all. Where does is state that you own your game? The way it works now you are just licenced to download and play it on 1 system.

You won't even be able to play it on some emulator some day when psp's/ps3's die out since it would technically be illegal.

...are the future.

I love having stuff in my hands and whatnot, but I must admit that digital distribution is the future. Internet speeds are getting higher too and digitally games are always cheaper (at least for us here in PT). I have been a STEAM user since the beginning and I am very satisfied at the service they provide. I am also very satisfied with the PSN.

I don't think it will end any time soon... But I could be wrong...

And anyways, you can always make backups... I have one of my STEAM library.

You obviously didn't read Alek's blog for further information.

He has PROVEN that there aren't many CFW users.

@JaXeRiR

I don't doubt that pirating scares away developers and it's definitely a bad thing if a consol lacks good games because of pirating, but I doubt that such a small number of users would comparitive have such a big impact on the sales.

# hmKyyubiDX 2009-02-22 10:11
On what are those numbers based? The PSPs that connect to dax.org?

Keep in mind that not every user of CFW has internet, I can think of, and just out of the top of my head, of at least 10 people who have NEVER connected to the internet on CFW. And I bet you there are many many more like that.

From what I've read, Alek's numbers are of PSP's that connected to PSN through CFW. That's no way to measure the popularity of CFW. And those numbers mean that there are at least 22k PSPs that have CFW, but I betcha there are at least 5 times that.

And piracy does lead dev's away from making games for a console

i.e.

Best Selling PSP Game: GTA: LCS - 5m

after that games barely scratch the 3m mark... It is a sign, especially if you consider there are 50m PSPs out there

Supporting piracy on the PSP certainly wouldn't be a good thing IF piracy was responsible for the platform's problems.

I'm quoting alek here:

"[...]

Maximum value calculated lately from the other releases was about 150k PSP's.

So, having in mind that there are how much? 38.96M PSP's on the World (http://vgchartz.com/), so there are only a 0,39% of the total ones using the Network Update [; we can conclude that...

... not more than an 8% of total World PSP's are with a CFW. (based on that statistics, tbh is a huge estimation, it should go about a 5% atm)"

5 % already is a big estimated number.

So 5 %? Even if one would assume that EVERY CFW user would pirate every game, that still wouldn't enough to be considered the main reason for the problems, if you ask me.

And I just don't like to see people thinking piracy is the main reason for the PSP's lack of game.

# Excuse me but...KyyubiDX 2009-02-22 11:30
...you are missing my point.

I have spoke this laregly with other game dev's and I'm going to exemplify with the PSP vs. DS example.

The fact that the PSP is piratable is common knowledge around the internet, and don't think dev's do not know about it. That is enough to scare away the dev's. The PSP has 5% CFW's, but dev's do not make the distinction CFW is not equal Piracy. So we have a fear of 5% of losses in game dev'ing.

Furthermore, knowing this dev's have to make a choice: Do I make a game for a console with a 5% of loss or do I do it for a console where the loss will not equal 1% (DS)? Ubisoft for example preferred the DS over the PSP.

The specter of piracy scares dev's away and that's something you cannot escape from, no matter how much you love CFW

As long as there will be PlayStations, Valve, and Microsoft, there will be the PlayStation Network, Steam, and Xbox Live.

Not a single one of them will shut down the service until they go out of business or until some mythical new medium comes along. They have no reason to shut it down. They'll continue to expand all the services, features, connectivity, everything.

Oh, and it DOES state that you own your game. Highlight the game on the XMB, press Triangle, and go to Information or whatever, and it'll say who owns the game.. Just saying. You buy the game, it's on your account forever.

Works the same way with discs. You might buy the game, but your name isn't the disc or anything. You just went to the store, plopped down money, they give it to you and you walk away without setting any alarms off.

You're making it sound as if Sony took the Dev. and his game from the homebrew community and forced his game on the PS Store. It was the Dev.'s decision to make all this happen and he probably went through a lot of trouble to do so.
