Arguably, Final Fantasy Tactics: The Lion War is getting more updates than Final Fantasy I & II: 20th Anniversary Edition. Even with the news that it has been pushed back to a June 2007 release date, that still won't stop us from enjoying some Final Fantasy goodies.

Going over YouTube, we found a PSP Trailer of Final Fantasy Anniversary Edition. Here it is, waiting for you to click on play and check it out.

Although mostly in Japanese, we still couldn't hide our excitement over this. Plus, at the end of the video, there was this enigmatic clause that says "and more...". We don't wanna jump the gun here, but maybe Square Enix is planning on working on a FF IV, V, and VI (or, *ahem* more) PSP version...We don't know, we're just speculating and doing some wishful thinking. Feel free to watch the vid again in case you didn't see what we're talking about.

Hmm...

anyone notice how it has 2007...4...and 19 at the ending? could that be the official release date for the game? Hopefully!

yeah

I remember that date as well. It is since it comes out a month before the Tactics version (May)

nice

I just played through the entire FF1 on Exophase's GBA emulator, it was fantastic. If the music from the video is what will be in the PSP version (orchestra) then I'll definitely re-play through, that music sounds a lot better than emulated GBA midi crap.

The difference between this version and the GBA version is it will include all the redone music for the PS1 release, all new artwork (all bg and sprites have been redone as well as many new 2d effects on blending), FMV from the ps1 release and conseptual artwork from back when they made it. Over all it might be worth a play though again if you liked the first one. Another note for someone else. The april 19th date is the release date for FFI Anniversary Ed. FF2 comes out in may (or june, cant remember since they moved the date not long ago).

Ah so if I were to play the PS1 release on popstation, it would have that great music from the video? The sprites in the video look relatively the same to me as the redone releases for PS1/WSC/GBA, the music would make a huge difference though.

Yes the music on the ps1 remake would be the same (according to square). The sprite work on the PSP version is not the same as the GBA or the ps1 version. The artwork has been entirely remade with much better use of colors. The official website even shows comparison shots between the GBA & PSP versions. I believe the Ps1 version used the sprites from the Wonderswan color remake. http://www.square-enix.co.jp/ff20th/ Click the blue circle in the top left saying "new information"
