Okay, given that Square-Enix's Final Fantasy Tactics: The Lion War, is set to be released in Japan come May 10. And those of you who are used to playing through Japanese combat menus while you've got a print out of a translation guide you downloaded from GameFAQs have probably already placed online orders for the game, here's yet another glimpse of what to expect.

This time it isn't a screenshot or a magazine scan, it's a shot of what you'll be getting in your mailbox (thanks to the folks at GameFront). Behold, the box:

Final Fantasy Tactics: The Lion War - Image 1

For more details on the game, (in case you've been under a rock, or you're just plain apathetic) we suggest you head here for some info on the game, and here for details and screens.

A rather nice illustration for the box art. Typical of the final fantasy series.

I wonder what they'll do for the US/PAL releases. Hopefully they don't replace it with an oversized centured picture of the hero as is so becomming so common now.

I can't wait for the US release. Assuming there is one, of course... Sony sometimes likes to withold the fun stuff so Americans play Tantalus D:...

I wonder what this games firmware will be...

I also wonder what FFVII : Crisis Core's firmware will be, since it even isnt out...Hopefully people can keep decrypting the firmwares, and we will be able to play FFVII : CC on custom firmwares !

That is assuming it will be released in the US and/or PAL.

yeah this beautiful box art. It's almost as beautiful as Final Fantasy III's box art on the DS.

Of course it won't, a major Squarenix rls in a system that barely has any great games, this will NEVER get out of Japan....

Final fantasy tactics rocked for psx. It was a nice break from just selecting attack over and over in battles. You could run and throw stones if you wanted to. Nice to have options for victory.

I know what you are talkin about - what if this game, or another great game like ffvii: cc is on a firmware where no one with custom firmwares will be able to play it...
