FF7's Cloud, Sephiroth finally arrive in Dissidia: Final Fantasy scans |
Ó
Finally, Cloud Strife and Sephiroth make it to the magazines! Shonen Jump has published their Dissidia: Final Fantasy feature, putting the FF7 characters in the limelight. For some reason, I'm actually happy they kept Cloud in his original FF7 characterization - not his Advent Children version. See that sword he's wielding in the screenshot? It's the Buster Sword! How awesome is that?! (Now here's hoping we also get Omnislash as an ability!)
Also note the background of the screen. It seems that the FF7 stage in Dissidia involves the Lifestream - I wonder which specific area though.
Another interesting thing is that screenshot with Sephiroth: notice those strange mathematical markings - do they look familiar? Hah! One-winged angel Sephy gets to use his Supernova ability in Dissidia!
Knowing that we're going to have the original FF7 version of Cloud and Sephiroth (and not their spin-offs), then this probably gives you an idea of the specific conflict they'll be bringing to Dissidia. It will probably involve the whole memory loss and puppetry thing going on, and none of the "I miss my flower girl and I'm tainted, bu hu huh" Geostigma conflict from Advent Children.
Coupled with today's Cloud-Sephiroth scan, we have some more which outlines pretty much everything that were already revealed in a previous article. It's Terra and Kefka, and a whole slew of gameplay details.

About bloody time!
kind of figured it was going to be Cloud, but somewhere in my mind I was hoping it was Zack just me, I mean after Crisis Core, my views of Zack changed and he became more of a hero rather than just some dude who tried to save Cloud and failed.
