Rumbling, bumbling, and inadvertently crashing its way to run over a hot dog stand is Sega's Crazy Taxi: Fare Wars for the PSP this summer. Yep, your handheld is just about to get out of control with this "runaway" hit from the Dreamcast heyday. This new installment is going to be "merging" both previous Crazy Taxi games while "cutting in" its own PSP-exclusive features.

Using some maps from the previous games, Fare Wars will have an Arcade mode that will have you trying to earn time bonuses by delivering your fares as quick as possible and a Time Trial where you must collect the highest possible fare within the time limit. Also, for the first time ever, there's going to be a multiplayer mode: two crazy cabbies can hack it out Ad Hoc in either co-op or versus mode.

Now where are those fuzzy pink dice? Check the pics below!

This looks awesome, Capcom made a bunch of great games for the dreamcast. I would love to see Street Fighter: Third Strike.

» Whoops, Sega

Actually a Sega game. But still a dreamcast game.

god damn, finally a good news for all psp owners. if they continue adding classic titles like these, the psp could truly be a success. i remember the good old dreamcast days and they were glorious. it is in my opinion the greatest console ever even tho it discontinued later because those bastards stopped buying it. anyway if sega ports just some of those classics: a true sonic adventure, marvel vs. capcom2, jet grind radio, heck even the great Shenmue, the psp would shine like never before. and thats a fact.

» graphics not so hot

Why is it that the other cars on the road look so much worse than the taxi you drive? I don't remember it being that bad looking on the dreamcast, and isn't the PSP about equivalent in terms of power?

by Haanz - 2007-01-11 09:54
» Uh.. No

The DC was arguably more powerful than the PS2.

The PSP is in between PSX and PS2, plus a lower resolution.

» Only if

Now if they ported Shenmue... I'd be in heaven.

by Gaffmiester - 2007-01-11 11:12
» If Only

And if only they ported FFVII (i know you can play it with the OE updates but i stupidly upgraded to 3.03 :().

And i hope they keep the same sound track from the original crazy taxi, mostly just the song All I Want by Offspring :).

» Retard way at tha top

uhh the PS2 is more powerful than the dreamcast ....why'd you think the dreamcast didnt stay for a while

it was crushed and didnt even stay in the race between the big 3

dont try to tell me it was hinderd because it didnt have dvd support cause ,,the ps3 can hold soo much more than the 360 and its still sticking around

» Bull

This is a failure waiting to happen, this game sucked on all platforms i dont think this would be a good port to the PSP because its boring and the replay value is very low plus it'll ruin the PSP's Rep which is high right now

by photoboy - 2007-01-11 22:27
» Shenmue

Definitely, I was just thinking the same thing. And since the PSP is a lot quicker to make games for than the PS3/360 we might even get Shenmue III. Jet Set Radio and Panzer Dragoon Saga would be nice to have as well.

» hmmn portable

i owned the previous sony/windows implementation so a portable version of the xb version is a good addition to the library. whats better is that i can play with my gals via adhoc or xlink-kai.

» Hmm

How long have Sega been working on the PSP? A Week by the looks of those screenshots! Seriously, The game did not look that bad on other consoles and the PSP can produce graphics way better than that! The team needs to take some time out to works on the graphics because that is definetly one of the worst looking games I've seen on the PSP.
