On its first week alone, Capcom already shipped one million units of Monster Hunter Portable 3rd. The following weeks after its release, we saw the title completely dominate the Japanese charts. Now, we have the unsurprising news that the game has landed the title of being Capcom's "fastest selling" ever in their history.
Said their press release: "Since its release on December 1st, Monster Hunter Freedom 3 has enjoyed explosive popularity, leading to long lines at retailers all over the country. The sale of 3 million copies of Monster Hunter Freedom 3 in 17 days represents not only our fastest selling PSP title to date, it is also the fastest selling game in Capcom's history.
This brings total sales of the Monster Hunter series up to 16 million copies. The unique pick-up-and-play co-op design of the Monster Hunter Freedom series allows friends to enjoy a new type of communication through gaming."
I guess there's only one thing left for Capcom to do after this milestone: announce a date for the North American release.
