Bargain Alert: PSP Core for US$ 139, select UMDs for five bucks |

We just love the smell of a good bargain in the morning. This week, it seems Sam Goody stores are going to be a good target for bargain hunters (or people who bricked their PSPs) as their PSPs are getting even cheaper, thanks to mail-in rebates.
According to Gaming Bits, Sam Goody stores are offering a US$ 30 mail-in rebate for all PSP Core units. With Sony's recent price cut to PSPs, now costing US$ 169, the US$ 30 rebate pegs the new price of Sam Goody PSPs at US$ 139.99. This is a very competitive price when compared to Nintendo's DS Lite units, which usually retail for US$ 129. The said deal is only available till Wednesday however, but there's a chance that the promo may be extended till next week.
In related news, UMDs will also be getting cheaper at Sam Goody stores, as the report from Gaming Bits also notes that certain UMD selections will be selling for US$ 4.99. No word on availability of the said UMDs, much less what those titles are, so you might want to check the store nearest you for word on their prices and what titles are currently available for purchase.

and i say that the ds SUCKS!!!!!!! The psp can do waaaaaaaaaaaaaa aay more than the ds. The ds is just the same out of the box while the psp gets updated with more features and homebrew development.
all im saying is sure, the ds is IN THE LEAD, but THE PSP IS JUST IN SECOND, by hardware and game sales.
My Sam Goody's rebate takes 8-10 weeks, and the UMD selection they had for $4.99 were just for previously used material. I saw Smart Bomb, and Rengoku for about $4.99, both previously used, and a used Italian Job UMD movie for $8.99. Good prices. Well worth the trip.

needless to say this is *****ING AWSOME. Now if sony had started with around 170 and then gone to 130 later, the ds and psp would be a little closer in hardware sales. But comon Sony, take a little look at the homebrew. Now if Sony would only allow homebrew. Then the psp would rule PERIOD
you can't hardly find Smart Bomb, new or used just about anywhere. It's a great puzzle game...and talk about frustration!
I'd buy a second psp, but what fw do these come as? Are they downgradeable?

i love when gay little boys prance about there cheap crapy graphic innovative ds's, there all jealous inside or stupid you chose, lol. if it wasnt for the touch screen the psp would be able to emulate ds's *****ty games ... its sad, but yes the umd did fail thats why u back up your games on to memory card, load faster and carry more games, well i could go on i rather not i have nothing to prove. psp is better just face it
the latest greatest version of da firmware requires having a umd in the drive. How fu*kuped is that?
