Australia left out of PSP price cut?

PSP Australia - Image 1Luke Plunkett of Kotaku decided to ask SCE Australia if they're likely to see a PSP price cut down under. This is in light of the PSP's price reduction in North America and Europe. SCE Australia's response to Kotaku's line of inquiry was such: "...we are evaluating the market and will make price adjustments in line with local business plans."

The Sony PlayStation Portable's recommended retail price is currently AU$ 349. Others have noted that certain retailers (EB Games) are selling them for AU$ 296.

We don't want to sound negative, but we'd like to echo other folk's sentiment that a price drop is probably necessary. After all, a lower price only means that more PSPs are easily accessible to everyone. Right?
