First impressions are most likely everlasting, that's why Namco has been busy amping the latest game for their Ace Combat franchise, Ace Combat X: Skies of Deception. This is the first PSP entry of the series, that's why you can't really blame the Namco guys for doing everything necessary for this game to be perfect. The game takes you to the Federal Republic of Auerila who is at war with its neighbour, the Democratic Republic of Leasath. Auerila was said to have exploited Leasath during a civil war.
The game doesn't only feature an original storyline told through CG, but it also boasts of everything you'd expect and want in a Namco flight simulation game - detailed jet models, options for fine tuning your machines (engine, wing, five categories of the armor, weapon and cockpit), and plenty of real world jets.
The Campaign Mode, makes you a pilot in the Gryphus Squadron of the Federal Republic of Auerila. Defend the skies, claim victory and restore freedom, those are your responsibilities. Campaign mode makes use of the Strategic AI System, where the contents of a mission change based on the strategies that you select. The game also has a multiplayer mode for up to four players. The game will be released on September 30 in Japan and on a later date in the U.S. and in Europe. So for now, here are more of the game's screenshots.

Can't wait for this game. If it's like any of the other's it'll be great.
I wish this game was already here, i want it SO bad, and hopefully it doesnt require 2.80, but maybe it will work with a prx switch if it is 2.80, so lets hope ;)

for havinhg played the 3 first ones on ps-x, i can tell that this series is the best plane game ever done! It's fun, "realistic" and well programmed!

this is probably the first psp game that i dont think xit pixels everywere, it actually looks pretty nice.
4, 5, and X on ps2 are great too, I just love ace combat's superb graphic, perfect handling, and the great storyline, don't flame me plz ;)
I gotta get this game, better be 2.71 compatible or I'll have to go underground and look for devhook 2.80 lol...
did the article say it got pushed back? Last I knew it was set to release sept. 19 in US...
I can't wait. Looks like a fun game.
