A look at PSP's classic collection

Ó

We came across this article over at gaming site Destructoid about five different reasons why we should own a PSP. We found it rather funny, not because of the given explanations, but because we're pretty sure there are a helluva other reasons than five. We're sure you'd agree, and we're sure you would all have your own different reasons, too.

GnGAnyway, there were actually two points there that caught our attention. First point is about Capcom. We gave it a thought and we found ourselves nodding and actually mumbling, yeah. Before we proceed, take a look first at this ultra-electro magnetic lineup:
We know what you're thinking. "For Christ's sake, those are all ports." Yes, we know. Capcom knows. Heck, everybody knows. When you you really think about it, Capcom never went out there and tried to package these as new games. They are bloody remakes and God, they are good ones. Remakes are remakes because of a reason: There's a demand for these games. Don't tell us you've already outgrown Ryu's hadouken?

The other point that caught our attention is you, the community, especially the homebrew community. As cliche and as cheesy as it sounds, the homebrew community is one of the best reasons to own a PSP. This includes the user-created games as well as the emulated ones.

In the end, regardless of how others perceive Sony as a company, we've got to love that handheld. We got to. We just can't live without it. 'Nuff said.

but... isn't the psp backward-compatible-ish (PSX :P) and don't they know that you can download all the NES SNES GENS roms you used to play in the older days?

No, it's called "let's write an article that grabs attention." Write something about the DS and no one would look since it's an established success.

I'm pretty sure that they were looking for five good legal + officially supported reasons to own a PSP.

i really like those games back in the old days.

now their back and in the way i like it even more better polygonization. but actually Strider 2 is the first game i considered to have transformed from 2d to poly properly (or was it that mario 64?). anyways old games like this really deserves to be uplifted and Capcom does it well. thank you!
