The 360 magazine posted a highly unusual review on their blog. How unusual? Well... they reviewed PS3-exclusive Killzone 2, and they liked it. What's more, the review says that it's better than Gears of War 2 in some respects.
Now this is what I call anti-fanboyism. Spread the love. The review was mainly based on 20 minutes of gameplay after spotting the Killzone 2 preview code on the desk of their sister mag, Play. Here a clip from the review:
ItÂ’s good. Really good in fact. this is the genre that has belonged to the 360 since its inception, but it finally looks like Sony has an Ace in its deck.
Visually, Killzone 2 is quite something - besting even Gears 2 in the motion-blurred grey battleground stakes, and the weight and purpose of everyting from the weapons to the characters is somethign to behold. Most importantly, though, itÂ’s really satisfying to play.
The enemy AI, coupled with a well implemented cover system (unusual for an FPS) means Killzone 2Â’s skirmishes are uniquely challenging and gratifyingly meaty.
The reviewer does add though, that his impressions are based on just experiencing a part of the opening mission, so whether Killzone 2 will deliver on variety is still a matter to be seen. At any rate, this only gets me pumped up more for the game. Killzone 2 will be released on February 27.

Good to see some anti-fanboyism for a change.
I used to be a Sony fanboy up the ashole but I think I can touch a 360 controller without it singing my skin now +)

It's not an insult to the PS3 at all, obviously guerilla have done a great job working around the PS3's sharp edges which have cut so many devs.
Good news for everyone, if they played it for 20 minutes and were impressed then it should be good for the long haul. The only issue as they mention might be if they don't have enough variety in the gameplay or the story blows, surely they won't let that happen.
By the sounds of it they've got that 30 seconds of fun thing down pat with the cover system (what any good FPS needs) and you'll be able to use that through out the whole game.

He's talking about the FPS genre which is what has made 360 ship so many consoles with halo2 and 3 (both are playable on the 360). To paraphrase hime "To date Sony hasn't been able to get one decent FPS game, but by the look of it now they have an ace in the deck." MGS4 is not a FPS!!
FPS sell any platform very well because it puts you behind the gun.
This is great news for Sony!

I say gears wars is cool becuz of the epic thing that happend in there KIllzone well I never like till I play on the psp......
My favo game must be Fear 2 becuz its awesome ... it doesnt like the other shooting game ....... for me...COd 4 still pwn another war game...point

I'm just responding to these guys posts that say that this is some diabolical scheme of MS to overhype their competitors game!
I know it's epic a 360 mag said it's good, and it is good. You guys really are taking a good thing badly.

You're really are a stupid scared little boy aren't you, unlike most people I prefer to have two high tech consoles competing out there. For a long time I've been worried we're not going to have any real competition from the PS3 to drive the XB720 this could be the game to kick MS' 4ss around their ears. Nintendo don't even seem slightly interested at all in bleeding edge at the moment. So I look to Sony and MS for cutting edge stuff in the future too. I might even go out and buy a PS3 (if the Mrs will let me have two consoles) if this turns out as good as what people are saying.

You guys really can't take a compliment about your console no wonder sony are losing, even their fans are overly defensive about their console with no PR skills.
I hope the game is great guys and I'll gladly fork out the cash for a PS3 if it's as good as what people are saying.
