Ninja Gaiden Sigma, which will be making its way onto the PS3 this Summer, is one of the most anticipated action games slated for Sony's next gen videogame console. Featuring killer graphics, new moves, and new weapons as well as finally giving players the chance to play as fan-favorite character Rachel, Ninja Gaiden Sigma certainly has a lot of great things going for it.

Yosuke Hayashi, the producer behind the Team Ninja title, recognizes the game's superb features, of course (he's the producer, after all), and minces no words in describing the huge impact Ninja Gaiden Sigma will have upon its release. "We don't really have any competitors right now," said Hayashi in a recent interview with GamesRadar.

"When our game comes out, it's going to be the undisputed king of action games. We have a lot of games behind us that are gonna try to play catch-up, but nothing right in front of us that we could call a competitor. I think that Ninja Gaiden Sigma is gonna set the bar that games that come after are going to be compared to."

Fighting words, but judging from the HD montage that we posted a few days ago, it seems like Hayashi does have every right to be confident. We'll find out if Ninja Gaiden Sigma lives up to its producer's faith in it when it drop in the U.S. on June 26. For the full interview, click on the "read" link below.

» Wow

He doesn't think that Heavenly Sword or Lair will compete as far as action games go?

by Noin - 2007-03-25 01:44
» hoo yeah

***** you 360! You'll never get NGS

by Spankboy - 2007-03-25 02:05
» Why would they need to?

This is a game that was originally released on xbox 1 and can be played on 360 via backwards compatability, so why would the 360 need a new version of it.

by lol - 2007-03-25 03:49
» umm

because an Xbox Ninja Gaiden cannot becompared to a totally revolutionized HD game that has been recreated to use the power of the cell processor....

by Seoulfood - 2007-03-25 06:16
» yea..

Too bad 360 owners are getting NG2 and ps3 will not. But I guess this is pretty damn good compensation.

by PS34ME - 2007-03-25 06:18
» Or...

DMC4?

by Manny151 - 2007-03-25 06:28
» Yeah right

There have been no reports of a Ninja Gaiden 2 going to either console. As much as I like Ninja Gaiden and as great as its going to be, Heavenly Sword is going to wipe the floor with it.

by AXIS - 2007-03-25 07:31
» Oh please

Yes we have to wait for confirmation of NG2 on any system, but we'll have to wait and see how well Heavenly Sword compares to it. Maybe HS will live up to the hype, or maybe it will fall flat like so many games. We'll see.

» Heavenly Sword

will be an AAA title. It will give NGS a run for its money, though I'm very very glad Tecmo is making an awesome work with PS3 gear. 1080p /60 fps and high res textures, that is a big WOW! where are all naysayers about 1080p impossible in PS3? on the other had, if NGS were a Multi-plat title probably it could not run well on any platform, 720p at most is my guess and no so good textures.

I'm suspecting that DMC4 it is already suffering the multi-plat curse. Maybe from the very beginning CAPCOM was making DMC4 using a common code-base (engine) for both PS3 and X360. I have always said that Lost Planet and DMC4 look alike.

» Please, enough of the 1080p arguement

"where are all naysayers about 1080p impossible in PS3?"

We have more than enough examples of 1080p games on BOTH 360 and PS3 to KNOW that it's possible, you don't have to keep bringing it up EVERY time.

The point about 1080p is that it has twice as many pixels as 720p, so whatever they achieve at 1080p, they can still do more at 720p. It will be interesting to see if NG2 will be have native 1080p support or 720p.

Also, NGS being multiplatform has NOTHING to do with the textures. Last gen, multiplatform games often had better textures on the XBox version, and if available on the PC, then better textures on the PC. If the PS3 was capable of better textures in multiplatform games, then it WOULD have better textures, just like the XBox last gen.

The same applies to DMC4. Hence stop looking for excuses if the PS3 and 360 versions of games look similar or exactly the same.

by who cares - 2007-03-25 08:51
» whatever

this game was good when I played it 3 years ago. who gives a crap about a new character and weapons. They should have made a sequal instead of rehashing this game for a third time

» Agreed HM

Funny how gamers like to ignore or re-write the past.

Multi-platform games tended not to push the consoles quite as hard as other games, but there were exceptions like Splinter Cell, BurnOut, Prince or Persia etc. Just the same, the most powerful system usually had the best version, and that system was the XBox, and this was true from FIRST XBox multiplatform game to the LAST! Only the PC offered better versions.

Before the consoles were even launched, non-exclusive devs said the two consoles were similar in power. During game developement, devs had said the two consoles are similar in power. With the consoles launched and the game out, we can SEE the two are similar in power like the devs said, with multiplatform games also showing this.

Seems like the fanboys can not / will not accept this...... yet. ;)

» in regards to 1080p

Actually this would be the first game ever to run in native 1080p and 60fps. Well.. actually, maybe virtua tennis did that too.. Anyways, yea, there were people that scoffed at the ps3 because it suffered from framerate issues in 1080p. But now we know that if programmed right, then it's more than capable.

» RE: Please, enough of the 1080p arguement

You know the reason why some xbox games had beter graphics than some ps2 games, because developers would delay the game so they could polish it up.

So we could see teeth and human looking hands.

We both know its easier to program on the 360 thats why the games looks the same.

Developers get lazy make the game for the 360 then port it over to the ps3.

they don't make games for the 360 and then spend more millions for the ps3 this is necessary because the ps3 has completly different arctiecture

» I rush the last post ignore my bad spelling lol

you two are mad so what you're saying is all the games on the xbox was better graphicly than the ps2 LOL no, there are loads of games that look the same on both systems and if there was a difference it was so minor, you would see it unless you looked for it.

E.G teeth, slighly better colour minor!

LETS see if games made for the ps3 then ported to 360 look the same, as soon as devs. learn how to use all then cores properly.

Don't see anyone talk about how much improvement(sar casm) the xbox 360 make over the xbox in dead or alive.
