No console-specific characters for Street Fighter 4 - Image 1Many of you have probably heard about the decision Namco Bandai made to introduce a different Star Wars character into Soul Calibur 4 (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3) depending on your console. Well, it seems Capcom is one company that won't be following suit with their own popular brand of fighting game.

Over at Comic Con, Yoshinori Ono has confirmed that there won't be any console-specific characters for Street Fighter 4 (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC, Arcade). A Street Fighter fan was wondering if the different console versions of the game would take the same path as Soul Calibur 4 and carry different characters. To this, Ono replied, "We donÂ’t want to go in that direction."

The home version will be getting additional stuff, but it seems like we won't have to worry about which version will get us better characters as all the home versions will be getting the same goodies.

» excuse me?

what the ***** is lame about the game being the same on all consoles?

games should try to give the same experience regardless of the console.

including exclusive characters/content is never good for the gamer, only the bottom line...

if you care to pull off the reigns you chose to wear, you would see that.

» Even if you own BOTH consoles...

...the 'unique character per platform' thing is annoying. Especially when one character is Yoda, and the other is Darth Vader (Soul Caliber). I mean, how silly is that? --You are FORCED to fight with the SW characters again SC characters (...when all along everyone is REALLY waiting to pit Vader against Yoda ---much like the Ads for the game do). Even if you own BOTH consoles (and buy the game on BOTH consoles) .... you're still screwed until they charge us an additional $10 for the inevitable download of the other character. --I'm not a big Street Fighter fan, but it's good to see that Capcom is respecting its customers a little better.
