Yet more FFXIII screens and info: Chocobo-riding, Alexander-summoning, and Crystarium upgrading |
Listed in: PS3, Xbox 360 Tags: Chocobo, Europe, North America, playstation 3 updates
Ó
Alexander
Once summoned, Alex starts out as a bipedal machine and can fight while in that form. As seen in previous scans, he can also transform into a multi-pillar castle thing and shoot his trademark Holy beams when in Gestalt mode.
Chocobo riding
Chocobo-riding has always been a part of Final Fantasy, and it will continue to be so with Final Fantasy XIII. Unlike in the previous titles, however, enemies will be able to attack you while riding. You lose a feather for each bump, but we don't know exactly what happens once all three feathers are taken out.
Crystarium System
Last on today's update is the Crystarium System, which is much like the Sphere Grid from FFX. Every battle earns you Crystarium points, and you can use those to redeem stat boosts and skills. The roles you assign to your party members, such as Attacker or Blaster, will affect which upgrades will be redeemable via the Crystarium.
As previously announced, Final Fantasy XIII launches on March 9th, 2010 in Europe and North America for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox360.

How are there chocobos on all these different worlds?
If you expect me to believe that chocobos are universally accepted throughout final fantasy then I can believe that each world's chocobo looks different...

The huge one is the Pulse Chocobo, the small cute one you find in the black guys(sorry don't know his name atm) hair is the Cocoon version. ;)
