Yakuza was made in 3D

yakuza1 If the Yakuza franchise could be made mini to fit mobile phones, why couldn't it made 3D? Apparently, we're a little too late asking that question because as it turns out, there have been already a 3D version of Yakuza done at some point. What? Where the heck did it go then?

Director Toshihiro Nagoshi revealed at the Nintendo World in Tokyo this past weekend that there was, in fact, a 3D version of the game. "Yakuza 3D was amazing," he simply said. He did not delve into details what became of that project, but he did follow up with that, saying that he'd like to get it out in the open at some point. As to the odds of that happening anytime soon, we can't really tell.

We're not having a hard time imagining the game in 3D, though. That would definitely be just amazing. In the meantime, we have Yakuza 4 to look forward to, which is coming to Japan on March 17th, and later this Spring for the West, exclusively on the PS3.
