Yakuza 3 to have mandatory 5GB install |
Ó

While Yakuza 3's sojourn outside the land of the rising sun is still up in the air, Japanese gaming mag Weekly Famitsu gave out a few details about the game. Namely, mandatory installation.
Yep, before you can step into the Japanese underworld in the shoes of series protagonist Kazuma Kiryu, you'll first have to install the game. The mandatory installation will eat up 5,120MB of hard drive space. Whew, good thing the special edition Yakuza 3 PS3 comes with an 80GB hard drive.
Of course, the installation will really only become a factor if you decide to import a copy of Yakuza 3. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed though. The first two Yakuza titles made it outside Japan, so why should Sega deprive series fans of this new entry? Keep checking back here for more updates.

I just don't understand Sega. They release all these crappy Sonic games yet they can't release Yakuza 3. I'd be more than happy if they skip 1 Sonic release just to have this subbed for import or release outside Japan.
5GB should be nothing for many PS3 owners. I wish that they allowed a full installation for MGS4 too rather than just every chapter.
Unless the Asian version has english, or it makes its was to western part of the world, as for the mandatory install it doesn't really matter because most PS3 owners have already or will upgrade their PS3's HDD.
i love yakuza 1, im still playing it, but seriously, i dont wanna import a game to play it, i want it to be in english
and about the install, we are all glad every sony playstation 3 has a mandatory hard drive to play titles with mandatory hdd installation. this game may not be as successful as gta4 but it will sure earn lots if given the proper promotion. yakuza 2 was a great game but is released under the gamer radar so it didnt do well. hope sega learns how to know which of their games are great and needs support rather than forcefully pushing sonic into over casualness. ***im using a 20gb ps3 japanese model upgraded to 250gb and dual shock 3, usb keyboard, mouse and logitech driving force pro on a wuxga hdmi computer lcd*** and the sonic game demo on ps3 is not making me buy it.
That's all you need for your PS3. I got one, they work great. I don't even think about space anymore.
THat's not even an issue. Any real PS3 owner has upgraded long ago! Honestly. I got my 250gb drive for under $100 and that was over a year ago. Space isn't an issue and shouldn't be when drives are that inexpensive.
and it's almost full (less than 40GB free). I need a 1TB HDD...
