Yakuza 3 Discussed in Famitsu |

Toshihiro Nagoshi has spoken out about his gangster epic that's making its way to the PS3, Yakuza 3. That's courtesy of Famitsu, and there are screenshots with commentary to boot.According to the article, the storyline of the third installation of the Yakuza franchise begins immediately from the end of part 2. So if you're wondering what happened after Kiryu and Haruka went to Okinawa for a peaceful life, then the story's right here in part 3.
Nagoshi also reiterated some of the reported tidbits on the game. Yakuza 3 will indeed be alternating between Okinawa and Tokyo, and what do you know. Real world brands will be plastered on these two. That's because this title has the biggest number of tie-ups in the series so far.
It's also great to hear that fans will be seeing some major improvements on the environments, such as more realistic nightlifes - thanks to a more advanced camera system - and even more people crossing the streets.
Other improvements to note are the AIs, which are now said to be more advanced. They react more realistically, say like, if you bump into them. But what's even more exciting is that the load time has been reduced quite significantly. In fact, Nagoshi boldly claims that "load times are almost completely gone, with the transition from encounter into battle being seamless."
There is, however , still no update on the battle system, so I guess we'll just have to wait for that. Anyway, Yakuza 3 will be coming to next month's Tokyo Game Show at the Sega booth, so you might as well drop by if you're in the area (lucky you!) to see if there'll be any more new information and good beans spilled.
The showcase will be in video-only form, however, but Nagoshi is pretty confident that the game looks even more impressive anyway in video than in screenshots. We'll be waiting for those assets, you bet.
