XFPS Rateup Adapter details revealed - Image 1We've got a sweet update for FPS fans who love using the keyboard and mouse on the PS3. Team Xtender is currently on the final stages of developing the XFPS Rateup.

Much like the XFPS 360 before it, the XFPS Rateup is a PS3 adapter that allows users to utilize keyboard and mouse controls on games that don't normally support it.

Here are the basic features for you:

XFPS Rateup specifications
  • Compatible with all PS3 games
  • Compatible with all versions of PS 3 (NTSC/US , PAL, NTSC/JAP)
  • Can map the controller button keys to any key of the Keyboard
  • Compatible with 95% of different kinds of mouse and Keyboard.
  • High sensitivity, precision and smoothness.
  • Built in Turbo (Auto Fire) functionality
  • Can adjust the mouse sensitivity from 2 extra wheels with 16 levels of adjustment for X and Y sensitivity to adapt perfectly to every mice.
Team Xtender indicates that the device will be made available sometime near February 20, so folks who want to extend their Mouse and keyboard control to games beyond the usual FPS may want to keep QJ for additional updates. I do prefer the K/m setup but I've got no problem with shooters on my PS3. Resistance, UT3, COD4, w/e it's all good. THo... I do dislike the awkardness of the orange box... it's obvious that its a mere port from the PC with no thought put into working it to the controller.

I will definently get this, but not to use for FPS games. I am a huge RTS player, and RTS games are not made to be played with a controller. I need hotkeys and a mouse when I play RTS. With this I may actually enjoy playing Command and Conquer 3 or Halo Wars on my Xbox.

Trying it for Call of duty 4. I remember I used a mouse and keyboard on unreal tournament 3 and it worked out pretty good (I'm just used to using it on a more slowed down kind of game like Cod4). The only PC game I've every played online was battlefield 2142.
