Well looks like someone wasn't listening to Kojima when he said to stop asking for one already. John Schappert, Microsoft Xbox Live Boss, says that he'd love to see Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots come out for the Xbox 360:
IÂ’m certainly in the fan club that would love to see Kojima-sanÂ’s masterpiece come our way. It would be wonderful to play Metal Gear Solid on the Xbox. It could become another of the many franchises that started their life on another console that are now coming our way.
Of course, there's the obvious limit the Xbox 360 has with its DVD drive. Schappert seems to like daydreaming though:
I canÂ’t speak on behalf of Konami, but I can shed more light on the fact that we definitely have the power to run MGS4.
There are a lot of recent examples that are in true high-def on our platform and arenÂ’t on PS3. WeÂ’ve got an amazing amount of horsepower and graphics power.
While the Xbox 360 is a powerful machine, Konami will be hard pressed to try and squeeze in 50 GB worth of data into a DVD. Besides, even if Konami does agree on an Xbox 360 version and decides on a multiple-disc strategy for the game, how would Otacon be able to make his Blu-ray joke in the middle of the game?

Not to start a flamewar or anything, I'm just interested in games which actually reach the 1080p native.
the fact that all Xbox fanboys want the Playstation games kinda proves that their games are simply not reaching the quality level of Xbox games.

In the end, I play all the good 360 games on my PC. Even MS knows they screwed up BIG TIME in that area are not threatning to not provide GoW2 for PC.

Of course the boss of Xbox Live is gonna keep saying they want MGS4... that's more money for them... As for the gamers... I don't see them all writing everywhere that they have nothing to play and must have MGS4 or their lives will somehow be incomplete.

i think they should make it, but reduce the graphics by alot, make it alot shorter, and make Otacon say some jokes like 'enjoy swapping disks, stupid fanboys'
Ya I was thinking that exact same thing.....and he could say it like 7 or 8 times...
Also I think 360 could maybe do better lighting, but I don't think it would be able to handle the amount of geometry that is in MGS....

All you need to do for that is buy a PS3 and buy/rent a copy of MGS4. Am sure that you can afford that :).
Like Top Spin...and some others, but none are the quality of MGS4....
Now 360 just puts 1080P on all their games, because they all get scaled up, which is kind of misleading to the consumer, but oh well....

Epic fail. Not bashing the 360, just the guy who said that and thinks that's enough to get MGS4 on the 360.
360 games run on 1080i and use HDMI1.2. The whole deal is an upscale to 1080p but not native and the difference is clear when you compare. The PS3 runs games "True HD "on Blu-ray at 1080p and . This John Schapper guy needs to stop lying. One can not have "True HD" graphics on a console that doesn't use an HD disk fromat or support native 1080p.

Can someone explain something to me? Every since the release of the HDDVD drive, the above is the EXACT SAME THING I've been saying this entire time. Yet, idiot MS freaks like to scream and yell that the 360 does do 1080p natively.
The 360 does not and will never support 1080p natively. There is no proof otherwise.
However, to be fair, there are barley a handful of PS3 1080p titles. Even WipeOut switches resolution.

fanboy aside i think it really just plain selfish for xbox to think that they're entitled all of the ps3's exclusives.like i said i mention earlier i wouldnt be fanboyish so let me lay down the facts and xbox 360 owner thinks before u try and bash me cuz im tellin the truth. gear of war, fable, and halo are the three top exclusives that everyone who has an 360 is lookin forward too. i know there r more but these r the ones that stand out the most and for the most part the most original list of top debuting exclusives for the 360.I know that there were more on the list but like i said earlier these three are the most highly anticipated. Now to my point, compare what i said to PS3's original list of debuting exclusives ( just to rectify something, by "debuting " i mean whenever it was first brought to the public's attention) which by the way its pretty long as well as the 360's. it included titles like Devil may cry4, assasian's creed, ff13,metal gear solid 4, gta 4, resistance, re5 and socom. this list is longer but when u take away all the ones that 360 was able to grab then u get the same amount as the for mentioned 360. drawin ever so closer to my point. what im tryin to say is imagine if 360 wasnt able to get its hands on any of ps3 original exclusives, could it hold its own like it is now? would it be as popular today as it is now. Take away the price drop because now it cant afford to but guess what Ps3 can now. hmmmm, interesting. i promised i wouldnt do so i apologized but the thing is u'd think that in all their success they'd extend sony the courtesy that has been extended to them time after time and share some of thier big hits. i think gears of war, halo and fable would look awesome on the PS3 personally. they r all great games. The 360 only has 4 games which are native at 1920x1080. The PS3 on the other hand has around 30 (not including WipEout HD).
Not if Kojima has a say in it. The guy is a perfectionist. He will not want to see his dream dumbed down in anyway shape or form, which I guess also includes spreading the game across multiple discs.
It's Konami who are "apparently looking into this". I say apparently because I don't trust the translation that press has got hold of to be correct. Kotaku said that they had the original Japanese transcript re-translated and there was no mention of MGS4 and Konami were talking about future projects.
Its not coming to the xbox 360, you would need like 4 dual layer dvd's ahah.

Yeah, WipEoutHD does change resolution when the framerate starts to increase, but even flat out, the game is still running at 1080p. Very clever technology lurking under that black shiny shell :)

First of all I am lucky enough to own both consoles.
However, as a fan of a console I would find it better to praise the game rather than get my knickers in a twist about what each console is capable of and why it is better than the other.
It really does not matter to me as long as I can get enjoyment from playing the game. As a consumer I am happy there are two platforms as this results in better consoles and better technology. Now before everyone screams at me how a PS3 is technically superior I really do not care right now as many games are still not maxing out either console. What is important is that MS will with their next generation have no choice but to offer something that is mind blowing to make Sony say "wow" and then Sony will take a year or two and do the same. This for me as a consumer is heaven, cause without xbox PS would sit on its laurels and without Sony doing things technically better then MS would not have to invest so heavily in getting a piece of the Pie. So all in all having two HiDef consoles fighting for market share means that we as consumers regardless of console choice do get a better product as time passes. As for ~MSG4 on the xbox I do not think it will happen but it does not make a statement that "I would love to see it on the xbox" an irrelevant statement. I see this as a compliment to Sony and Kojima. Would it work on the xbox, simple answer is yes. Will it be as good? open to debate. graphically the 360 has not yet been pushed to its limits by a long way and there are many ways with software to tweak images, just look at the number of different graphics cards for a PC or the number of diverse techniques used for digital photography. Whatever, and as for Halo, well I personally find it to be simple, no real brainwork needed, colorful and easy to play. Essentially Halo in its simplicity hits a truth which is "FUN" I still go back to play 1 2 and 3 and look forward to the next.

You can't have True HD on a double layered DVD and a port that does 1080i, period.
You must have an HD disk format and a 1080p port. The 360 has none of that, so when you see that a 360 game says 1080p, they're lying. You can't hit 1080p without an HD disk and a 1080p port.
If they want it so bad...Give it to them. Im a PS Fan but i want 360 fans to see how good PS3 Games are. And you know what make them download the game on there harddrive..Then Finally MOst 360 fans who play the game on the 360 will relize "Hey! I should Buy a Ps3 and wont have to worrie about Memory Space."... i was not joking im serious PS3 is very under rated on my stand point. and 360 is an awesome game to have if u have alot of friends. when privte chat comes out on PS3 maybe that will change.

They would certainly have to make cuts (less stoyline details, missions, video content, etc.) even if they were to use a multiple disc method, but hey it would prove positive that developers should use the Playstation 3 as the lead platform and port multi-platform games from there. Unlike studios that make games to fit on a crummy DVD9 and still release it on a blu-ray disc just so they can release it on the xbox 360. What about Tekken 6 from Namco. Are they going to make it a masterpiece on the ps3 and chop and cut the game down just so it can be released on the xbox 360 or is the xbox 360 going to hold back the ps3 potential yet again?
Guys, my comment may appear a little muddled.
My purpose of the comment is that the games that are for a particular console actually help to push things forward. My reference to Halo is not that its a great game as that is a matter of opinion. However it sold xbox.

MGS sells PS and deservedly, if it comes to xbox then I would say let the xbox wait as an exclusive or timeframe based exclusivity helps sell a platfrorm.
For myself the competition between PS3 and 360 is a healthy one as it forces the 2 camps to pay more attention to the quality of the games that are being released. For the PS3 and the 360 the number of titles being released has a very high level of quality games. When I think back to PS1 there were some great games and a lot of rubbish. PS2 had a similar problem as did the original xbox. MS only had a handful of great games., however today both sides are offering games and quality that far outnumbers the rubbish.
