Your typical QJ blogger is a Sony gamer and a Nintendo gamer and a Microsoft gamer (and a PC gamer and a regular Mac user) - in other words, we love 'em all, because hey, it's all good and we feel lucky to live and write during these next-gen times. So we have these points to make:
- For the rest of you who want to follow this amazing, eye-catching exhibition: if you don't want your Xbox 360, don't boil water and fry an egg on it. Get Microsoft to fix it (remember, Microsoft was willing to refund any repairs that owners have had to get on their "buggy" Xbox 360 units), and then give the repaired unit to your local orphanage. It's almost Christmas.
- Um, the PlayStation 3 supposedly overheated at TGS 2006. Please don't try to one-up this video by frying something on a PS3. Give the PS3 to QJ so QJ can give it to a reader. That's one less person who has to line up. :)
- Overheating is not pretty. But that's like a weatherman frying an egg on the sidewalk to prove that it's a hot day - the majority of weathermen don't fry eggs on sidewalks, and the majority of sidewalks aren't that hot. We're glad that Microsoft took measures to shoulder repair expenses for faulty Xbox 360s, and we're glad that Sony took steps to deal with the whole "overheating at TGS" mess.

A handfull of PS3's AT MOST overheated at TGS, while thousands of Xbox 360's have been overheating for the past year. I'm so glad I decided to skip the 360 and go straight for the PS3. Complete waste of money.
It seems like PS3 uses 2x as much power... physically, it uses 380 watts... In comparison depending where you live, in the US, playing for a good while will kill your electricity bill.
And I see the UK going "Oh crap" because they were freaking out from the Wii's StandBy mode that uses min. amount of power (No idea...)
So I can see you ending up paying more for your PS3 in the long run. :-/ Sorry bad kids.
haahhaha dumd 360 ps3 has the powersupply built in too so you have to think about that when it comes to overheating also i wonder how much money ps3 will cost to play aahhaah parents are going to have super electric bills because of their kids playing ps3 ahahahah
Ive had my 360 for close to 3 months....
NEVER have had a heating problem...bothers me that this guy has opened his system, and theres way to many cuts in teh video for it to justify anything...For all you know, the guy opened up a 360...heated the thing up wiht a foreign device, and then slapped a egg on there.

Why does everyone keep on mentioning about how the PS3 also heated up at TGS? It's a f***** big a** building with lots and lots of other people (body heat) all the lights, nd other consoles and devices everywhere. Don't you think it SHOULD be heated up?

For the people claiming that the PS3 overheated at TGS, one PS3 unit crashed running Ridge Racer, and was quickly reset. There were no other incidents at the 3-day show.
As for heat and noise, numerous magazines and online sites have reported that the noise level is equal to a slimline ps2 and that the system emits almost no heat.
...if there had been, the shaky cam footage would be up on YouTube by now. There were hundreds of thousands of gaming journalists and ordinary gamers at TGS; if it happened, someone would've caught it.
Finally, the 360 is useful for something: cooking eggs. Lol.
If you bought a 360, why not put it to good use and cook some eggs? I mean, what else is the 360 for? Practically useless. Lol.
This is very true, the 360 overheats BADLY.
Its a fairly poorly designed console (in the interior).
Why do we see products like the intercooler for the 360 eh?
Oh and the 360 was already dead, it had the 3 red lights of death.
Very funny though, just goes to show how badly it heats up.
And the power brick is external... LOL

I had my X360 for more than 2 months now and thank God it never heated....

The Xbox360 is a loud piece of hardware that runs hot. Its a fact, accept that there will never be a non-modded Xbox360 that wont sound like a vacuum.
Until they totally re-design the Xbox360, it will continue to be a heater.

Only to point out that every new piece of hardware is subject to failure.
I learned my xbox360 lesson and will wait for the next PS3 batch release...

the "heat gun " the guy is using is a ****ing plastics welder I used to use one of those in my high school shop class to bend and combine tubing and other plastics. they can get **** hot as **** and thats why you have all those bad edits in the video!
P.S. I can't stand the X box or the 360 if it was up to me I'd burn all of them in a mass bonfire
dude me + my friend did that with his, but in a different way... his overheated so much that we literally put a pot of water on the top (when it was standing horizontally) + it started to boil... then we put like 2 eggs in... after about, oh i'd say, 10-15 minutes, we had hard-boiled eggs... it's the only thing a Xbox360 is useful for... waste of money? not really... Fake? nope...
have u ever run a comp with no cooling? it still won't overheat that much... the 360 shouldn't overheat that much, but microsoft was to stupid to not put in individual coolers for the processor + the GPU... if they had half a brain, they'd do that.. all comps are like that now... they have this little thing that keeps the processor cool, + graphics cards come with a fan built on top of the GPU, but microsoft is to dumb to realize that... the 360 they used there is literally what it looks like inside... it has no individual cooling units on the CPU or GPU... + about that thing saying it's the "powerbrick"? that's just u fanboys trying to keep the 360 safe... even if the powerbrick was cooled, the internal components would still overheat without any proper insulation, or even internal fans... it was built with like no holes in it to circulate air... just a few near the hard drive, but that's about it... there's no proper circulation...
that makes one good frying pan... wonder how it tastes? i had a hardboiled egg made on a 360, but that's alittle different cuz i didn't open it up... i put a small pot of water to boil on the top (horizontally) of the 360... few minutes later, boiling water... a good 10-15 minutes after adding eggs, me & my friend had breakfast...
At last 1 function that the xbox CAN do ...
