We do know that Modern Warfare 2 (Xbox 360, PS3, and PC) made some record-breaking debut all over the world. But it sure would be even more interesting to know which version of the said title raked in more dough for the franchise. According to Dennis Durkin of Interactive Entertainment Business, the Xbox 360 has sold double than the PS3 thus far.Said the COO, "Initial feedback from retailers is that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 [on Xbox 360] has outsold the PS3 2:1." He also noted that the launch day of the game also became the busiest day of the Xbox Live. According to his report, over two million simultaneous users were online at a given time.
Congratulations again, Activision. You definitely have a golden hit on your hands.

I seriously feel like the only person with a 360 who doesn't own MW2. Not that I don't want to. I'm just flat broke.

seeing how the Gamestop commercial says its only for Xbox 360, only shows the 360's box, and says and i quote "the best way to play modern warfare 2, is on Xbox 360" its no wonder people bought it more for the 360 with that kind of commercial.
Only reason I have yet to buy Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 is due to me having so much fun with Uncharted 2! But I might buy CODMW2 later on.

I got it but for the PS3 Woot makes the game worth more for me knowing that it cant be pirated it on the ps3.
360 has always had the lead when it came to multiplatform shooters as it offers a better online experience through xbox live and majority of the gamers are shooter fans/gamers.
Mind you, I only have a ps3 so before the flames from fanboys come into play, I'm going to have to say that what I have just said has some context and are plainly the facts about the subject.

It's pretty obvious that the 360 is going to sell the most units. It has by far the best online play mechanics.
I own the PS3 only because my best friend has it and well, it's free online. I mean the only time the PS3 really shines are on exclusive titles, that's basically it.
But none the less, MW2 is an incredible game no matter what! Keep on fraggin' people! >:)

it really is no big surprise that xbox 360 scored more. I don't even know why these articles are still being posted for. It's like how FF VIII comes out, probably ps3 will outsell 360 because that's the sort of fanbase playstation was built on while 360 is build on shooting games.
My friends grabbed the PS3 Hardened, opened it up, played for 2 days, used the Classic Code, sent his wife to GameCrazy and told them that there was something wrong with the disc, they gave her a brand new SEALED Hardened Edition, he went back the next day and switched it for the 360 Hardened. Noob employee did the exchange, worker was supposed to switch out the disc, not exchange all together. All in all, he said he made a mistake by getting the PS3 version, but he did get a free game out of it.
MW2 is better on 360. boobies. MW2 is better on PS3. boobies.
I'll have to agree and disagree. The PS3 version of FF"XIII" will outsell the 360 version, but not because of fanbase, but because of the Japan where there are more PS3 owners than 360 owners and that the PS3 version is only on one disc instead of multiple discs that can be found on the 360.
nah man. theres still more 360 units in the NA. you have to see what the sales are for NA/Europe.

i have it for both consoles. PRestige for the PS3. and, also the MW2 bundle. i personally think the game look better on the ps3. i know all the 360 fanboys are gonna flame me for it.
I think the only reason 360 is doing better cause it had a HUGE Head start before PS3 really started to fly, yes x-box is a little better for ITS DLC packages with certain games "GTA4" to name one of a good amount.
PS3 JUST Started to raise up people, give it time.. PS3 will surpass 360s solely for the fact that soon people are gonna get pissed off about the 100 bucks a month for XBL time.
Plus PS3 is getting some 'exclusive' content from gta4 as well, Microsoft has a "Time based exclusivity" with some games that are one the ps3 as well.

MW2 sells so much on the Xbox 360 because of those biased commercials showing ONLY the Xbox logo @ the end and then the MW2 xbox limited edition. This makes consumers think it's only for the 360 let alone how much microsoft loves FPS games. Sadly (This may sound fanboyish, but it is true. Don't be immature and flame me.) MW2 actually beats out all X360 exclusives in sales, quality, grade, popularity, you name it.
On the other hand, MW2 has less sales on the PS3 b/c ppl are ocupied with either Uncharted 2 or Demon's Souls which makes MW2 on ps3 an option. MW2 sits right beside the best of the ps3 lineup.
It's not just the commercials. They want the system that has the best version. Many people know that multiplat games run better on the 360. The PS3 version of MW2 sucks so much. WTF is up with the invites and crappy patches.
Assassin's Creed's commercials have all been PS3 versions I'm going to guess that it might sell better on the PS3.

2 - bad squad AI " free for all " :)
3 - bad enemy AI " pac man "
4 - The level design is missed " lol get to the leader on the kitchen , wow CP have MCdonalds Map "
5 - no lean control " show your body to shoot "
6 - no MP i mean real MP with M4s
too many ADS and remurs about a game like this !! and they said it will be the game of the year , why?! for the story , or the GFX or the game play , i dont see why

of course FFXIII on PS3 will outsell 360s version. By far. Do you actually know how many people boughta PS3 just for that game? It will outsell the 360s versions on all major regions, including America. We don't even know if sony plans a bundle with FXIII, which I predict to be coming.

I doubt the sales of AC2 willl be higher on PS3. You can actually see the approximate sales on the preorder charts. AC2 on 360 is higher.

Actually it can. It just takes much more effort to pirate on the PS3 as you have to remove the front of your PS3 and solder an on/off switch to the part of the disc drive that pulls in a disc.
Any burnt game can be played, and if you have a 60gb or old 80gb PS3, even imports.
That being said, it's very hard to do so not many people have done it most likely. To burn PS3 games you'd also need a bluray burner.

I kinda agree with what most of the people of have been saying. The only reason that I can see that more people are buying the game for 360 is:
A) Gamestop commercials for MW2 are completely biased towards (as in the entire commercial is exclusively about) the 360 version. Good job on another hollow publicity stunt, M$.
B) The majority of PS3 owners that I know of are still playing Uncharted 2 or Demon's Soul. Not trying to put down 360 owners with this one, just saying that while you guys were waiting for this to hit the shelves, we've been busy.
C) and, of course, the trophy/matchmaking problem. Honestly, this is what's keeping ME away from MW2 right now (that, and Uncharted 2). Of course, that's FOR NOW. I hadn't really planned on getting it at launch anyway, so honestly IMO it's worth waiting for.
For those who can't stand to wait a few weeks until all of the bugs are worked out, this is apparently not an option. However, that being said, despite the claim that the 360 version sales are 2:1 over PS3 version sales, I can honestly say that I expect overall unit sales for the PS3 version to catch up over the next two weeks. That'll give the Gamestop 360 exclusive hype time to die down, PS3 owners the chance to get as much out of the games they already had prior to this "exciting" launch, and by then the PS3 MW2 will be running and looking just as good, if not better than, the 360 MW2.
beter never i tested this game , the ripp of the year , the worst game of the year , keep playing unsharted , and save money for GOD of war and GT5 , thats the last hope to enjoy video games in 2010 , but MW2 is just game to sell , with holly ads and no demo , and a lot of bugs . trust me keep the image of COD4 on your mind , bcz if you play COD MW2 youll the series and youll stop playing COD like me .

Well considering the game is ps3 exclusive in Japan I think we can ignore Japan's sales when comparing the ps3 and 360 version of XIII in America. That said, the ps3 version will still sell better.
Praising IW only would only further lead to more mindless ramblings about how IW are better than Treyarch and how IW are better than everyone and such...I think praising activision as a whole is the best idea.

There is nothing wrong with this game, cry moar. Most everything in this game is improved over COD4
After I looked into it a little bit, there really is tons wrong with the PC version. No dedicated servers, games capped at 9v9 when COD used to do like 64 players (or more I can't remember), no mod support, and no lean function like you said. Those are all things I expect in a PC game... but, I bought the X360 version, so I really don't care :)
