The Virtua Tennis franchise wouldn't be complete without the tennis gods and goddesses. And see, isn't that why we love playing it? Guys go ga-ga over Maria Sharapova. Girls go goo-goo over Andy Roddick. So, when Sega announced that Virtua Tennis 3 would run in all its 1080p glory, tennis fans are serving up to see their loves playing on high-res.
The whole 1080p was announced by Sega just a few days ago. And today, we're going to make it doubly abso-officially-lutely confirmed with pics as proof. See them below for yourself (and note the "Full HD 1080p" tag on the TV monitors). This is the second title after Gran Tourismo HD confirmed for 1080p support, and surely we'll see more in the future.

I guess it was ture. It looks like Sega is capable of using the PS3's 1080p capabilites. I hope Sega can do this on most of thier games. Sonic would be great if it ran at 1080p.
But still, I must admit. These graphics look great.
If only it was as fun as the wii. I wish wii and ps3 would merge, with graphics like this and a wiimote.
Why waste your time playing wii sports when you can go outside and play THE REAL THING!! can you kill aliens, kill terrorists in Las vegas, ride dragons, be an assasin in the renaissance. NO. So thats why us ADULTS are getting a PS3 or an XBOX 360. No stupid little kids toy like the WIiIiI.
I agree the Wii does look fun to play but the question is for how long? Games like redsteel might be a little boring to play. from the footage I have seen you take the wii controller and pretend its a sword. I doubt that you will play that game for more than 2 hours. The wii is something new but at the same time it lacks games plus power. The games that I have seen look almost as good as I was playing it on a xbox (original 2001) console with just a bit much better graphics but not even close to what xbox 360 and playstation 3 deliver.
Trust me. These little fat kids who are getting "Wii's" will have sore arms in about one week. At least Xbox 360 and the PS3 controllers dont involve us waving our arms like a bunch of *****s with parkinsons
People are saying that having games run on 1080p its a waste. The argument I hear is that no one has a HDTV that supports 1080p. If you look at best buy, circuit city, and more electronic stores they are starting to stock up on 1080p HDTV. Sure they could go for $3,000.00 and even higher but with time maybe a year old or two prices drop fast. The Key is to buy a HDTV as soon as a new model comes out this way you can buy the old model for a less price but with the same features.

Also none of the games i want will not come out until next year.
So I just will not get it until there are more games I like at a reasonable price.
If you say what about "resistance" I just have a feeling its going to suck. It is like killzone(PS 2) all over again.

i read the review on killzone PS2 and it says that it was a good game but had bad sound didin't look good and didin't have a good ending to the story, so how would resistance be like it when it looks great has good sound and from the looks of it a good story?
For resistance to be the saving grace for the PS 3 just worries me this coming launch.
Especially with Gears of War coming out for the 360 and even that game i'm worried about.
I just want games to live up to its hype.
I think Insomniac will deliver a great game as usual.
Why should I care for the Gears of War if I dont even own x360 anymore?

# 18 brings up a good point. Is it really 1080p? What's the framerate? If it's 1080/30 well then 1080i is what really is. 1080/60 okay you got us. Still I've loved this franchise of tennis and this games gonna be sweet
that these are photographs.....people that think they can "see" the difference are just brainwashed....1080p is just a higher resolution, and you won't even have a CHANCE to see the difference unless they are full HD captures straight from the source...
You WILL NOT see any difference from a blurry pic taken with a cam....seriously, quit your wishful thinking....
man I said the same thing that #7 said over in the wii blog and they fried me over that. I think that the wii fans are worst then the xbox fans. anyway if i got a wii i can tell from now that i wont play it. i might play red steal for an hour or 2 but after that I wont be playing no wii. all nintendo has is this fat plumber that can play almost every sport. i dont wanna play no kid games
Chris, the "p" in 1080p MEANS 60fps. 30fps in 1080 resolution is called 1080i.

They can still call it 1080p with a 30fps. Naturally it would be 1080i but they can still call it p.
Dave you didn't get bashed out in that forum alert did. People don't care if you have a one cell mind really they don't. Plus with the Wii you don't need to wave your arms around like your trying to get a fly away just simple little movements. This will not tucker a kid out or an adult. Wii has your hardcore games you can see that with all the multiplatform games plus they have others that have the M rating. You feel that Nintendo is for kids basically because they make the best kid games out there instead of what sony and ms put out for the kids. So in reality Wii is a little better because they have all the "adult" games for it PLUS they have all the better kid games out for it too.
Sorry for the waaaaay off topic comment. Virtua Tennis rules and I for one will be playing this on my sweet ps3. Already have top spin (not as good) on the 360 and I'll have wii sports for the Wii

i = Interlaced
p = progressive scan
Try reading up on these things before you hail them the greatest things in the world....
ugh....I hope PS3 comes standard with cyanide covered controllers, just to bring up the world IQ.....
