Wheels: 37 cars confirmed for Gran Turismo 5 Prologue - Image 1 The official Gran Turismo site has just released more information for the upcoming retail release of Polyphony Digital's Gran Turismo 5 Prologue. And from the looks of it, Japan's PlayStation 3 denizens are in for quite a ride - the full game is confirmed to carry a total of 37 cars (as opposed  to the couple listed before as unconfirmed), including the Nissan GT-R that's apparently become the title's poster boy.

Of course, hot wheels will need an equally hot set of tracks to play on - we've also confirmed that Prologue will carry a total of five tracks, including the Suzuka Circuit that was seen in last month's demo. Given that each track is playable in two different layouts, that gives players a total of 10 possible racing experiences.

On a related note, the update also details that several online features will be added to GT5 Prologue by Christmas (December 25). You can view their details at the list down below. Full game specs are available at the official GT site via the source link.

Prologue it set ot launch in Japan this December 13; the Blu-Ray copy will sell for Â¥ 4,980 (US$ 45), while downloadable from the PlayStation Store will cost Â¥ 4,500 (US$ 40).

?

40 for the prologue? I hope this isn't true...
by xslayer91 - 2007-12-11 12:27:21
that is crazy

you only get five tracks and it is $40. They are definitely milking this game for all it is worth.

no thanks

I'll just play Forza 2 until the real game comes out.

The conversions are for the Japan release

They apparently haven't finalized pricing for the game's US port.
by McAwesome - 2007-12-11 14:38:06
too bad

I guess you can stick with the "ok" games while the rest of us play the great games.

I would happly pay $100 just to play the prologue!

$40 is nothing, I am definitely getting this !

I have forza 2...

when I bough the second 360 the elite... and hmmm... I didn't like it really.. and was a 2 disk game because it comes in the same case the marvel one... and I can't trade it because of that... not for resale...
by hush404 - 2007-12-11 18:48:43
hmm.

I'm interested but... I hope the price gets lowered for NA audiences! $30 is alright, but $40 is pushing it for a handfull of tracks in a 'beta' more or less, of a game. THo I know Japanese gamers usually don't care about paying through the roof for stuff, maybe that's hope? :P I just can't wait for the release of the full GT5!
by hush404 - 2007-12-11 18:59:10
re someone

you could sell it on ebay I suppose.
by Quixand - 2007-12-11 19:23:38
buddy

i second that... soon as i can get one i'm buying... and just like you i'll happily pay $100 for it. and then even happily pay another $100 again when GT5 comes out.
by dylantalon - 2007-12-12 06:33:38
yes

alevera and quixand, i would also be happy to pay $100 for the prologue and then the real game. this is the ultimate real driving simulator, this is gran turismo people. saying gran turismo and forza in the same sentence is a crime punishable by getting 10-15 years in prison. for killzone 2 demo i would pay $100 dollars also.
