Here are some notable features of the PS3 Slim according to Engadget:
- The buttons in the front are now physical and actually "click" in to function. The PS logo above the disc drive does not rotate for vertical use, and yes, the hard drive is swappable.
- Here's a more thorough comparison between the slim, the original, and the Xbox 360. Some people were asking about the texture of the matte finish, and compared to Microsoft's console, it's just a teensy bit rougher (and on that note, about the same weight, too). It's still just as glossy as the original on the sides, however.
- While our tests were far from thorough, the initial results from our quick-and-dirty decibel ratings show some promise. With a baseline of 49 decibels, the Slim averaged 53 to 56 db when in use / playing a game / installing data (in this case, Metal Gear Solid 4), compared to the 55 to 58 db of the original. Blu-ray movie playback is where it becomes noticeable, as the slim peaked for us at 60 db when the original was doing 70 db running the same disc.

it doesnt fit the style of the ps3
the old ps3 looked like a george foreman grill, and that wasnt a bad thing.
but this looks like a cheaper version of the grill without the nice bells and whistles slapped with a bad matte finish on top
If the slim was still glossy and chrome like the old ps3, that would be the *****!!!!
but its not, oh well. i thought i might get a ps3 when the slim was released but it doesnt look promising enough.
ill pass on this, but i might get one later on

the black matte finish wont reflect light off of the TV screen which is annoying. plus it wont have visible fingerprints all over it. the only thing that is crappy about it are those buttons. did you see the lip move down when he pushed it like it was going to break.
it looks like they designed it like the Fat PS2 the way the hard drive is in it and they used the PS2 "style" power supply.

Why? becuase there is generally no hardware upgrade or difference in software.
so all i can solely rely on IS looks.
hardware matters more than looks to me.
but since there almost is no hardware changes
the only deciding factor i can go with is looks
I dont like the ps3 that much in general, but if i had a choice between a slim and fat, id take the fat just by looks.
no means did i say im getting a ps3 fat becuase the slim looks ugly. Becuase im simply not getting either of them anytime soon

also the bottons aren't so much attractive and it looks like a little likes toy sorry guys but for me looks are important after the hardware. and when the hardware is the same looks matter if not we wouldn't fall in love.
P.S. Hope you don't fight over this just chill out in the end it doesn't matter as long as you like what you buy

And even lowered the LCD screen size. If at least use OLED SCREEN their would have an excuse.
But do what is, if you don't have another way business is to wait and buy next year i my at all.
Even more here in Brazil that the price of imported products leaving official is 4x the value of the USA.
If the PSP go is actually 250 bucks when is launched here in Brazil by the value come to (R$ = Reais) R$ 1250,00 that is our local currency.
Equal to the Xbox 360 Arcade costing here R$ 1000,00 and accept that is $ 176,00 is absurd.
If the PS3 slim had removed the Power Suply source for the outside is good idea, because in most defects it is the biggest problems. But their don do that.
And i want to buy my PS3 SLIM and PSP GO before the end of the year 2010.
With the salary that currently only estimate gain even, unfortunately.
