Warhawk patch v1.1 released by accident, affects U.S. Blu-ray version owners

Due to undisclosed reasons, some Warhawk players in the U.S. were inadvertently able to download the game's v1.1 patch before its official release. Apparently, U.S. players who bought the Blu-ray version of the game were the only ones affected.

Posting on the official PlayStation Blog, Warhawk game director Dylan Jobe advised those who downloaded the patch to do the following:

...for those players that were using the Blu-ray version of Warhawk that *did* update to v1.1 today, we advise that you go to the XMB (cross media bar), and in your "Game Data Utility", delete your Warhawk game data. Once you've done that, just re-boot Warhawk and the game will re-install v1.0, allowing you to play with the 1.0 world again.

Jobe also assured affected gamers that deleting their Warhawk game data will not cause players to lose their stats or Save Data. Patch v1.1 has already been taken offline and is still on track for release at the end of this month.

I was over at my friend's house recently when they accidentally released the update. Luckily, he didn't want to wait to update Warhawk, so we just played a LAN game instead. It appears that it wouldn't have been too much trouble at all to fix the problem, but at least he didn't have to mess with it in the first palce. ^_^

Yestersay myself and many people I know were all on warhawk during the day and it worked fine. But after switching them off in the afternoon and returning later that night not one of us could start warhawk. We all got this error code 80710D23. After contacting sony we were told that we had all affected with the patch aswell, and to delete it. Even after deleting it it took some time before we could get back on warhawk. But some thing obviously got fixed because it suddenly worked for all of us at exactly the same time. So it looks like it was the UK that got affected aswell......:(

I forgot to say in the comment above but we were all using the DOWNLOAD and not the blu-ray disc...........
