We have here a new video on Incognito Entertainment's ongoing beta for Warhawk. We're sure a lot of you are excited to see what's been happening over there, in case you weren't able to sign up. Well now's your chance to catch up on what you've been missing.

So far, it's looking cool, although it's quite odd the way nobody else seems to be around in the arena. Well, obviously your enemies are hidden, and this looks like a single player mode. Anyhow, the aircrafts are definitely looking crafty, and it might be best to buckle up cause it's definitely a long way to go down.

Oh, you want to go see it for yourself? Alright, we'll scoot ourselves aside now and let you enjoy the video.

» THIS GAME IS OFF THE CHAIN!!!!!

I don't know what bull***** this guy is talking about no one being in the arena. It was crazy by the time I got on yesterday at 5pm and again at 8:30pm.

The Servers were jammed yesterday but I got my game on. Played online with 28 others most of the time with hardly any issues.

This game rocks. It's str8 up adrenaline rush as soon as you start. I never expected WarHawk to take this route (I still have the original one)

On the real; Everybody that came over yesterday that didn't make the Beta who (like me) also have an Xbox 360 said that the Warhawk Beta was INCREDIBLE!!!!! !!!!! And were surprised at how smooth everything was going (didn't freeze up, slow down, no glitches)

» Private Game

That guy obviously created an online private game with just himself in it. i did that yesterday so that i can fine tune the control set up the way i wanted online. I am not bias as i have an xbox 360 as well but i must say that this is the most awesome and immersive multiplayer game i've played so far.

I'm playing the Halo 3 beta as well, they're two different games with different features but man WarHawk has left me truly impressed.

» Umm

In the Plane looks alrite,Crosshia r is Discusting, on Foot looks pretty bad.

by Seoulfood - 2007-05-25 04:18
» kind of agree

I always think this game looks pretty amazing when the aerial combat is shown, but then I get a little turned-off when I see the on-foot stuff. Maybe I just need to find a better video or something.

its like a mix of those two games

» Good Call

You're spot on; this guy definitley created an online private game with just himself in it. And he's terrible at it even when playing it all alone.

As far as Warhawk and Halo 3 Beta; regardless of what the blog sites try to do to diminish the quality of anything Sony; Warhawk is going to be a BLOCKBUSTER title. I said it long ago and I'll say it again; No one saw Warhawk coming in to shake things up!

I like Sonys approach with the 1.8 update and with Incognito and Warhawk.

Never let them see you coming!

I have the BETA and I must admit that I thought that it was going to look bad on foot but it blew me away. The graphics are very cool on foot and on the air.

» I* never knew

you could leave the vehicle! lol @ the xbot hating on the ps3. Go play your loud slow ass 360 and cross your fingers it doesnt over heat and blow up.

» Indeed

Its a great looking game, I would buy this. Sony should have let everyone with a PS3 into the beta, only 20% at best will make any bug reports anyway, not like it would be hard for them to handle everyone. Seems the beta people are all breaking the NDA anyway.

This game is good but ill disclose information that even screenshots have shown.

The game may not have the best graphics, but the draw distance is insane. You can fly to the very edge of a map and turn around and see all the action going on. Or you can fly high above the map and look down and see everything.

The on foot screenshots don't do the game justice. The graphics may not be the best, but the fact remains that with 4 players on a single PS3, there is absolutely no slowdown whatsoever. I had 3 of my friends over on a death match server and it was a blast having all 4 of us with 20 other people in a deathmatch.

There could be missiles going across all 4 screens and zero frame rate drop. It is amazing.

The game needs a few balancing tweaks but it's a great game.

» Xbox 360 [Halo 3] Vs. PS3 [Killzone 2]: The Ultimate Analysis

There’re 2 types of NEXT-GEN games: brand-new games and heavily-updated games.

* Brand-new

- There’re no relationships between the predecessors and the new title (made from scratch, built from the ground up).

- These titles have the capability to use most potential power of the systems (consoles).

- These titles look spectacular and fantastic in the graphics, sound effects, physics, and technology departments.

- Gears of War (UE 3.0), Resident Evil 5 (New Proprietary Engine - NPE), Final Fantasy 13 (White Engine), Haze (NPE), MotorStorm (NPE), Ratchet & Clank Future (NPE), Uncharted: Drake's Fortune (NPE), Crysis (CryEngine 2.0), Grand Theft Auto 4 (Rage Engine), Killzone 2 (NPE)

* Heavily-updated

- Literally, these games were made by updating the former games.

- Can’t overcome technical limitations (restrictions).

- These titles can use only small amount of power of the systems due to many reasons (optimization, efficiency of architecture in terms of hardware and software, et cetera)

- These games can’t impress the gamers.

- Halo 3, Armored Core 4, Tony Hawk Skate series, etc

Unreal Engine 2.5 was used to make Unreal Tournament 2004. UE 2.5 includes Karma Physics engine. Then Epic totally renovated (modified) UE 2.5 to make UE 3.0. Since UE 3.0 is extremely different from UE 2.5, UE 3.0 is classified as a brand-new engine (i.e.: UE 3.0 has Havok Physic 4.5 engine).

Halo 3 is an updated version of Halo 2 which was released in 2004 by using Renderware Engine (by choosing this updating-method, the developers can save huge amount of development time and budget).

In a report, it says Gears of War’s 90% is based on DirectX 9 tech (10% is DX10 tech); based on this factual data, the specialist (writer) assumed that Halo 3’s 98% is based on DX 9 tech. DX10 gameplay means: perfectly breakable buildings and vegetation (shoot at any parts of a building, then those parts must be penetrated realistically like in Crysis), perfectly deformable objects (in Gran Turismo 5, every inch of the car is perfectly deformed), soft shadows, 100% real facial-animation (Bungie never have to worry about this tech since we can’t see Spartans’ faces, LOL), depth-of-field, motion blur, etc. Crapalo 3 doesn’t have any of the above DX10 gameplay elements.

Halo 3’s beta footages look mediocre. There're beta footages of Gears of War and Resistance available online, unless you are blind and illiterate, you must announce the fact that beta builds look 95% same as the final (retail) versions.

Halo 3 (Bungie), Perfect Dark Crap (Rare), and Shadowcrap (FASA’s Shadowrun) have extremely similar graphical qualities and artistic design. I’ll educate you on this matter. The developers of all these games are owned by Microsoft. These developers share all kinds of techs which are used to make X360 games (DX 10 based, not OpenGL 2.x based).

Killzone 2 is being made by Guerrilla which is a subsidiary of Sony; it has 130 employees (programmers and graphics designers). The total budget for KZ2 is $60 million (just for your reference and ignorance, Epic spent $9 M to make Gears of War with 80 devs). Also KZ2 is in Guinness Book 2007 as the most expensive video game in the entire gaming history.

In 2005, Guerrilla hired 50 programmers and designers ONLY from AAA-level companies around the world; these new developers are the CORE-brains behind KZ2.

Killzone 2’s actual gameplay footage (pre-alpha build) was shown to journalists at GDC 2007 expo behind closed doors. These journalists said in news articles ~

- KZ2 is both graphically (lighting, shadows, mind-blowing sky, river) and technologically extremely advanced.

- It was like watching Next-gen Black 2 and Half Life 3 combined together (we now know what kind of shooter KZ2 is). Everything which was hit by bullets and missiles were penetrated.

- The characters (soldiers), indoor and outdoor environments are extremely detailed and gorgeous.

- The sound effects were blowing away the audience (sounds are important, too, guys).

» What!

The video is no longer avalible. I hope thier will be a warhawk beta video.

by James-XCE - 2007-05-25 22:33
» Hi,

The beta of warhawk is under NDA, videos are forbidden.

by warhwak unofficial tester - 2007-06-03 22:12
» .

NDA? I didn't even get a invite but I'm playing the game! lol, stuff disclosure when the game is running sweet most of the time, occasional freeze on entry and exit to some servers but its a beta, graphics are top banana, veichles drive well but the star it the warhawk, hiding in clouds to get away from pursuing craft or lauching a chaff to avoid missile lock, but a good player can take down a warhawk easily on foot!

Gonna rock when it comes out!
