Warhawk beta invaded by non-invitees through hack? |

We imagine there are a lot of players who are still a bit miffed by the fact that they weren't accepted for the Warhawk (and probably PlayStation Home, too) beta. And some of those players might be thinking that since they can't play via the invite, then they must find a way to play without.
Thanks to a tip from JollyRoger, we found that some players are indeed resorting to less than legal ways to get into the Warhawk beta. QJ Forums member mhsmiq decided to "share" how. It basically requires tweaking with the PS3's Linux code.
We currently don't have any confirmation whether the hack really works or not, but we really wouldn't advise you guys to try it. First, trying it carries the inevitable ban (either just for the Warhawk beta or worse - your PlayStation Network account) of unauthorized accounts.
Try it at your own risk (and your PlayStation 3's) so we think we'll wait it out anyway. We'll bring you more news and info about the Warhawk beta, just stay tuned.

If I did do this which I'm not saying I did, I didn't use any Linux code infact I didn't use linux at all since I don't yet have it installed, there be a much easier method, and because I'm so nice...........call me a lier all you like, I aint sharing. Both ways will be blocked soon when it gets invaded even more thanks to go ol' qj ;)
I keep seeing little errors like this from you boys at qj. Where has your quality gone? It has nothing to do with linux. You simply use a proxy server to trick it into downloading from you instead of $ony. As for the warhawk beta pkg its been on ps3news.com for weeks and playable.
Why are you doing all the hacks.. Just copy the warhawk beta link in your ps3proxy, and play.. ;)

That takes about 20 seconds to do and alot easier than the method here... and works
You guys should have stated where I got my info from, don't credit me on all of this. All I found out was the EU F@H link that made it possible for EU PS3's to do this. I got my sources from PSPcrazy who seemed to try this first (well with the method I posted anyway).
BTW there is no Linux tweaking involved. lol.

and if i did do it and sony banned my psn id, i would sell my ps3 quick *****in sharp and buy an xbox, i am sure a lot of people who have done this, if they got banned, im sure they would do the same. i mean, who wants a next gen console with tons of online games, when you cant get online with it.
i'm sure if they they found a fairer way to distribute the beta's this sort of thing wouldnt happen, i have a ton of people in my freinds list and tons of others in my resistance list, and i dont know one of them who was picked to beta test, warhawk or home!

Risk getting banned just to play a bata, no thanks. As far as a fairer way to distribute the bata....it's a bate EVERYONE is not sopposed to be able to play it. Now they could have put out a demo and called it a beta like halo then everyone who bought a certain game could play the demo....I mean beta.
sony should make EU open to all the stuff that America is and then this wouldnt happen

Yeah, it has nothing to do with tweaking linux code, you just install the game from your ps3 using the proxy server. But Um..yeah, please don't do this people, otherwise bad stuff will happen..
it got the link 4 2 ways u can get in,the 1st u half 2 use a ps3 proxy server then u go 2 the ps store any click 2 download any demo u dont have,and it will be re directer 2 the warhawk file that u download ,and that u selected 4 the proxy 2 use,and the other way is the proxy will redirect the download 2 folding at home,when u go 2 download if it says 776 mb that means u did it write...........i even did this with the hobe beta,but it dident wor causse u need the account of the person who it 1st belonged 2,its the same like when u share ps store games

I've been in for ages and never had a problem.
Sony can't even keep a track on content within the store and multiple accounts are on every PS3, people swap stuff and have downloaded full titles from the stores without paying.
They will do an update and let all the community who got in boast about and spread good publicity. Afterall, Sony needs some.

This method has now forced me to buy warhawk beta, I am so much enjoying it i would even pay 10usd for playing this beta its so much fun! i got ban on xboxlive which i dont care about anymore as after playing warhawk, gears of war can not be fun am sure!

they are too stupid if they do banned ps3 means ps3 user not buying games and who benifits from games being bought sony they will just put a login page to the worhawk bata so non regestered people canot log in
I can already see a simple solution to this problem, if Sony was to aim to stop this. Simply shut down the current master server, set up a new beta which directs to a new master server, and require a login built into the new beta. Something tells me that they are going to do something along these lines soon.
Stupid people. Now all of the game media outlets are going to pick this story up and it's going to turn into an actual problem which will result in bannings or at least disabling of the accounts that have done this.

thats because the link your putting into ps3proxy is the us version,not the eu version.
what did you do,email them pleeing gilty?If it happened to you,it could probably happen to everyone else cause I dont see a reason they would give priority to you only.
Setting up the Ps3:
-Go to your network settings
-Choose your kind of connection (wired or wifi)
-then pick custom settings (not automatic)
-automatic detection
-Ip settings automatic
-HDCP is not needed (if you prefer)
-DNS settings automatic
-MTU automatic
-Use the proxy server
-Use the IP adress from your Pc and put in port 8080
-UpnP on
-Don't test your connection cause this sometimes gives you an error (just save your settings)
Download this program on your PC:

Setting up Pc proxyserver:
-Put in your Pc ip adress in the bar
-clik (check) on Ps3 mode
-don't change port 8080
Download Warhawk onto your PC:

After the download is complete rename the file to fah.pkg
Guide to install file:
-Make sure the Ps3 and pc are connected to the internet
-go the (replace file) window on the proxy server
-put this address in the first bar

In the 2nd bar click the box to the right of it and select the warhawk file on your pc (fah.pkg).
go to proxy settings and click start
Now on your ps3 click on folding at home (if your already have it downloaded delete it).
Start the download and it will look like folding at home is downloading but the file size should be 776mb if it is 50 then you messed up in some of the previous steps.
After the file is done downloading it will install then go the games section on your ps3 and you should see Warhawk!!!!
This is not too difficult if you know what your doing. Good luck!!!

i havent heard any harsh punishment to beta offenders. in fact they can all just shove you out of the beta and do a wipe of the server because they originally have the copy/list of certified beta testers of which they allowed. they can even simply remove unwanted people on the beta if they want to. anyways i suggest not to try though, as i learned from the final episode seinfeld, for some law to be enforced someone will be punished for it first. and we dont want to be the first one dont we. its not like we can sell our ps3 that fast, without the buying person bringing it back to us.

went i use the ps3proxy thing i change the setting's then i can't log in to the internet went i do that and also when i click start then it change to stop !! must i leave it !! is it being tran'sfer to the ps3 but i can't dwnload it cause pc3 setting is not rite i follow everything rite !!
