Waninkoko is back on the scene to release his own PS3 Custom Firmware for firmware v3.55 which includes homebrew and backup game support.

Developer's note:

This Custom Firmware for the PS3 increases the system features of your console to allow the installation and execution of homebrew applications. ThisCustom Firmware could allow too the loading of legal copies (backups) using these new included features.

We don't support and condone the usage of illegal copies. We are not responsible for any damage for the usage of this Custom Firmware.

Waninkoko's work on da wii scene is gr8ly appreciated by me and many others, by i believe he won't get sued, since i believe he never released any personal info on his part, he used his own tools to decrypt/patch the firmware, he didn't distribute dem (source code), just da files available 4 download here.Other websites hav sum more detail on which models dis works 4, but 4 now, google it and wait 4 a fix.

Brick is becoz the consumer had installed over models not listed in the later list which has not released in time at the forums.

Moreover, the mistake they made is tey have compiled a different incremental firmware and hash mdm different. & the last mistake they do it flashing via recovery mode. Geojb should be applied over 3.55ofw first, then Warin's through update in the menu, not recovery mode power hold.

I've bricked my old CECHA06 256MB but it works on the new CECH-2506B. Now using Rogero & Multiman for backups load & proven faster start up & smoother gameplay then before. Why not? even after so many years? It is a development and achievement success that only programmers will rejoice over the coming possibilities.

To know the deficiencies of the product & expand it. If you know that the disc is 8GB out of a 25gb disc blueray that you costly purchased makes you feel the program might not be fully developed or worth your buy. Programmers and gamers are not the same over the decades.

It's easy to install it but I know Sony's will be releasing a new firmware update for PS3, so why bother.

I prefer to play online than having homebrew apps on my PS3.

Thanks for putting the option of playing backups back in. I understand Geohot's reasoning behind not including that feature, but there are legitimate uses for backup loaders (like me, keeping my originals sealed or for taking your PS3 places without having to bring all your game discs).

How do you make a backup of a sealed game? Ohhhh you download it... (and it stays sealed at the store) LOL.

I would stay the hell away from this FW. Tons of people (fat and slim) are reporting major issues.

I'm sure he'll fix it, just have to wait.

What they should do is allow a LEGAL disk to be fully copied to HDD and launched without disk in drive. Not burnt Blu-Ray's though.

In a theoretical sense, there would not be piracy if the price of the original is kept low. And a balance of both can gauge the point where the price tag should be in.

dumps are not always permanent if it needs to reinstall. So either way both sides benefit instead of limiting the possibilities or limiting the consumers on the things they have bought, whether it is a costly console they have bought or game they had paid in full and not getting what they needed.
Imagine paying for a meal and you only get to eat the fries but not the main course.

As long as sensitive issues don't get breached in public it should be fine. & to understnd that federal rulings are limited by international waters and national countries regulation points that it has to go under jurisdiction of the country's barrier before passing to the accused.

Programmers and gamers are not the same.

You can use WuTangRZA, GeoHot, or Kmeaw. Pick one or all ;)

I recommend Kmeaw if you don't know what you're doing. You can use WutangRZA + GeoHot + Kmeaw's LV2 patch if you want the full experience though it's a bit more work. PSGroove has a good tutorial of how to do it and resident guru and developer ISOHaven is there as well

It's easy for some people to say, stay away from this model or that model....sad part is, tons of people that are trying to do this don't even know what 'CECHA01' is! Some people just can't read....LOL

I just want my OtherOS back with 3.55 so I can play all the latest titles and work on PS3 Linux. Damn it Sony, don't take away want I legally bought and paid for (I have a release PS3 I bought and paid for still on 3.15 because of Sony stupidity...) I get a 3.55 w/OtherOS and Sony can go f*** themselves.

P.S. Don't care about cheats, but back-ups are nice as they load faster from the HD than the original disc. I buy my games, but I like the convenience of fast load times. My 360 isn't hacked, why? "Install to HD + Ability to Dev on it myself = no need.

i still dont see the point in having a custom firmware the ps3 was made for Gaming and the entertainment it gives everyone wants to "hack" as they call it and "cheat", "pirate", and be "homos" because of reasons unknown yet. My ps3 is fine the way i bought it its fine that i play legit online games unlike on ps3 where there was a hacker every 5 meters away from u in the game... pointless, sony has a right to sue its their software that was modded and yes they can sue because its their source files he used because he didnt build his own firmware from scratch therefore sony should sue all they want. and people dont see why they sue well make your own system then have someone hack it and steal s**t from you where you lose profit then come post on how you feel.
