Virtua Fighter 5 PlayStation 3 build not getting patch, says Sega |
Ó
We really can't blame some gamers if they feel slighted by Sega's latest actions regarding the fighting game Virtua Fighter 5 (PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360). And all these gamers, quite unfortunately, happened to be PS3 owners.
It actually began months ago when Sega confirmed that no online play is being planned for the PS3 version of VF 5. The Xbox 360 version then came out carrying an online mode in all its glory.
To make matters worse for PlayStation 3 owners, a recent patch has been released for the Xbox 360 build of Virtua Fighter 5 to further refine the game's online component as well as some graphics improvements.
When asked if the same will be done on the Sony platform, a Sega representative provided this comment, "At this time Sega has no plans to release a patch for the PS3 version of Virtua Fighter 5."
We really don't have any idea, truth be told, how - or why, for that matter - Sega reached such conclusion. But you need not worry as we promise to provide you the latest updates as soon as Sega gives proper explanation about the matter.

No wonder Sega is pissed. The PSone beated the crap out of their Saturn & Dreamcast.
The game wasn't that good anyway. Yeah the graphics look ok and the button response is good, but this game is trash compared to Soul Calibur. Virtua Fighter's character acting sucked badly. I got bored of this game fast. On the other hand, I still play the crap out of Soul Calibur 3 for the Playstation 2. It is probably the best fighting game I have played so far.
I had my fill of VF5 with the demo... the hell with the full game. I love SC3 on my PS2, still play it too. Too bad an online patch for that wasn't release
Tekken 5 is online and thats all we really need.
Some people love soulcalibur... I just love tekken... just waiting for the new one... for now tekken 5 online is just fine for me
thats a gd way of putting it
...But Soul Calibur is my favorite.
Soul Caliber & Tekken > Virtua Fighter.
VF sucks, like everyone else said, it has good graphics but that's it. It's no fun to play. I love the weapons of SC and the craziness of Tekken.
No that i think of it, I finally understand why i couldn't sleep the last two days!!! It was because Sega will not release a patch for the ps3 port of VF5!!!!
WHY SEGA WHYYYY???? (crying and screaming and the rest of it...)
the individual game companies to provide their own servers. this is a double edged sword. You don't have issues where xbox live is down and every game is unplayable. but you also have to provide your own servers.
VF sucked when i rented it for ps3
kinda like its sucked in the arcade since vf2
Tekken and soul calibur are way better than VF and Tekken has always been better.
better graphics, better characters and better fighting
