Virtua Fighter 5 Virtua Fighter 5 has come a long way, baby. The PS3 version of the kick ass franchise can trace its roots back to the 90s. The game was developed by Yu Suzuki and was was released as an arcade game in 1993. Back then it ran on hardware developed by Lockheed Martin and Sega.

Virtua Fighter 2 was released in 1994 followed by Virtua Fighter 3 two year later. Virtua Fighter 3tb, the version that added  tournament battles featuring more than two characters (not simultaneously) was introduced in 1997. Virtua Fighter 4 came in 2001 on the NAOMI 2 hardware. Another version of Virtua Fighter 5 was released this year for Sega's Lindbergh arcade board.

In 1998, the Virtua  Fighter series was recognized by the Smithsonian Institution for contributions in the field of Art and Entertainment. It is currently a part of the Smithsonian Institution's Permanent Research Collection on Information Technology Innovation and arcade cabinets can be seen at the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History. Who knew a martial arts videogame would end up there?

Virtua Fighter 5 for the PS3 is set for a Spring 2007 release.

I Piss on this game

Yawn.. the graphics look very average. but you know the gameplay is original since it has a 5 in the title.

hmm

The graphics do look very plain and blah. I think Dead Or Alive 4 had better graphics than this, and that game is over a year old. But I can't expect much since it's a playstation game to begin with.

The Hell!!

How can you look at thoes screens and go its average if am wrong, but aint it a moving image game so i don't think it in action will be just boring geeez don't hate on something with out trying it.

...

it's because this game has been hyped for having such steep hardware requirements, and nice graphics. i would say these screens don't live up to the hype, but that doesnt mean it's not an awesome game..

who cares

Anyone who talks crap on this game is clearly not a fan of fighting games in general. Seeing as Virtua Fighter offers some of the most indepth gameplay in any fighting game on the market graphics don't matter that much. I'm also sure it will be in HD and look just great when it does come out. So to all you haters. Please don't talk about something you don't know anything about. Virtua Fighter is probably one of the best (if not the best) fighting games around.

Humanz alwayz detest the Best..

Sony fans rarely..[if Ever].go to other systems section..but it seems xbox fans always post in PS3 forums..i believe that comes from an inferiority complex that resides within every xbox owner..they know that the PS3 is attractive..[i wont say that its the best]....they want final fantasy..they want MGS4..they want original games like shadow of the collosus...but they cant ...simply because there system the[xbox360]..simply lacks orginality..they want a ps3...but they hate to be proved wrong...[nothing is worse in this world than proving someone wrong]....and so theyr in pain. i hope i could hlp you but...well....never mind

agreed

they only have one thing really... shooters and now that PS3 has Resistance it's proving their consoles worth less and less.
