Zipper Interactive's been faced with a lot of questions from gamers about their upcoming PS3 exclusive, MAG: What's the story? Will there be a fee? How are you planning to manage 256 players online?

Those questions and more are answered in this video interview with Zipper VP Michael Gutmann and MAG lead designer Andy Beaudoin.

After you're done watching the video, you may also want to join the live chat session with Zipper Interactive on the US PlayStation blog this Wednesday, May 6, at 2 PM Pacific / 5 PM Eastern. If you still have any questions left unanswered, join in and ask the people behind MAG yourself.

» MGS4, KillZone2, and MAG

will be all the shooters i'll need for this generation.......everything else will be irrelevent as they are just too plain saturated low quality FPS with not much to distinguish itself from another dull shooter game without anything new except a number added to the name.....cough* call of cough* duty cough*

CoD4 revolutionized the console shooter. How can you bicker about MW2 without knowing a single detail about it?

Killzone2 was clearly influenced by CoD (which is NOT a bad thing). Except for the "realistic" controls (I always wondered what it would feel like to shoot a gun underwater). However, IW could take a few pages out of Geurilla's online book (but keep a few of their own like a fricking party system). Still KZ is a great game.

MAG needs to prove itself. You can't just assume it will be a great game, especially considering Zipper's last couple steamers.

MGS4 is probably the greatest game I've ever played, but it not an "fps".

There are so many good shooters coming out, it's too bad you're going to miss out on them.

» Lag?

The game looks great, and seems to be doing everything right...

However I hope the same tech that SOCOM: Confrontation was built from is not the same tech being used for MAG.

SOCOM: Confrontation was one of the worst games for Lag and only supported 32 players. 256 players seems like a sure fire Lag fest if the same tech is being used..

» Different tech

Not sure what the difference is but I heard it uses different tech to the one used in socom....Gotta say this game sounds like its gonna be great...hope it works out

» lag

Just so you know Socom Confrontation was developed by Slant Six not Zipper. I agree, it was a lag fest! Anyway I have total confidence in Zipper that they can pull this off without too many probs. I'm sure the first few days or even a week will be a little rough but nothing a few patches can't fix.
