We lost Other OS support with firmware v3.21 and PS3 jailbreaking methods were blocked by v3.42. I'm sure there are a lot of you out there who wish you could go back to firmwares past, and someone claims to have the solution. Sketchy as it seems, a video shows a PS3 firmware downgrader that will allow you to go back and retrieve these "lost" features.
To reflect the poster's credibility (or lack thereof), I'll just give the video's description to you stright up:
Hello! A video to show how cool PSJailbreak team are. You can downgrade 3.50, (and hopefully future firmware) to any firmware you want. You can do 3.15 to get linux back, or 3.41 for the highest compatibility of homebrew support!
You have to have an original PSjailbreak (not a clone, if your device post less then 100 USD then you have a clone!!!)
Then you need to buy the PS downgrade. The psdowngrade is not a physical product, it is a software "coupon" that will allow you to downgrade. If you have a console already on 3.41 or less then you only need to buy the psjailbreak. the downgrade is only if you are over 3.41!

People shouldn't even buy this because it'll work with other devices before you know it.
And the process of booting psJB every time is kind lame/boring.
PS3 needs a definitive CFW not a psJB.
3.50 fw is pretty good, no different than the others it just doesn't run psJB, but don't really care about it.
The guy from the vid said homebrew stopped working in 3.50 fw, I'm no expert but it was block on the 3.42 fw update.

I suppose we'll find out fairly soon, depending on whether or not anybody online tries to downgrade several PS3s using the same dongle.

A PS3 that can't use PSN seems pretty useless. My PS3 does way more then just game discs.

So now you can bounce back and forth. Not sure how healthy that is to the system but....ok.
Not to mention if Sony starts to log how many times you upgrade to a certain FW. Gee, look at this guy, he installed FW 3.5 73 times....hum....

I wonder, is there any way for me (3.41) to go to PSN using PSGroove? I heard it was blocked some week ago, is this problem solved?
